    afr 165 valve springs

I have a set of the early pedestal mount afr 165's on my car and i believe i'm experiencing valve float. The valve springs are the standard afr springs and now have about 60k on them. I was looking at purchasing the crane 987's, and was wondering if anybody had used these? I know ed curtis has...

convert my eight mile to quarter.

I looked at my handy stack-o-timeslips, and came up with one in which i ran an 8.303 at 85.7mph 1/8th mile, in the quarter i ran... 12.881 at 108.09. Just to give you an idea of what it could/should be. This run was with a 1.93 sixty foot btw. So high 12's seems pretty close

    for the Turbo guys

Here's some of the more major stuff, down pipes, fuel system upgrades (255lph fuel pump, 42lb injectors), feed and return oil lines for turbos, cold side piping/intercooler, blow through maf meter, misc. fittings and flanges to plumb everthing. I'm missing some stuff i'm sure, but these are the...

    351C Engine Swap

I know the guy that has that motor now also has some aussie heads, and they're not of much use to him anymore (sanctioning body banned them). I can see how many sets he has and if he would want to get rid of them...

    351C Engine Swap

That motor had flat top J&E's (rules don't permit domes) and yes, detonation had been an issue with 110 octane turbo blue, but it has shown no problems whatsoever with 114. Klotz swears they make a fuel that will not detonate and is the same price as 110, we are gonna try it on the dyno and see...

    351C Engine Swap

Nope, they took the aussie heads away from us, they were open chamber 2v heads, shaved more than anybody ever thought would work. It's a .030 over 351 c, stock block, crank, rods, solid cam (custom grind) stock intake, no port work on the heads, 500 holley 2bbl, going to 1 5/8 headers, non...

    351C Engine Swap

Before answering the question as to what would be the better motor, we'd really need to know the ultimate goals for the car, is it a daily driver with occasional track use, or a weekend warrior? And also whether the 351c in question is a 2v or 4v. And fwiw a 2v cleveland is still TOTALLY worth...

    What to use...FMS "B" Cam or "E" Cam ???

I'm not entirely sure where some people get the idea that just because a part isn't the most expensive, it won't work, or it's junk.... But i've been more than happy with the numbers the b-cam 2 degrees advanced with 1.72's has made with my car. Is there more power in a custom? Absolutely.. Is...

What other Ford cars used the same A/C comp.?

I know for a fact that the cougar and t-bird compressors are the same, either that or ford made them differently yet they look identical and with the same part number....

What other Ford cars used the same A/C comp.?

Actually i believe the only ones that are the same as the mustang are some 86 cougars and t-birds with the 5.0, and all 87-88 cougars and t-birds with the 5.0.

    Finally dynoed my car

Flowtech long tubes, flowtech x-pipe, with spintech pro-streets and turn downs. Has power steering but no AC, stock fan and air box with a k&N.

    Finally dynoed my car

I'm not sure what the guys name was, but yeah, it was done by dynoTune. I'll try to get the graph posted up later tonight. The mods that are in my sig are pretty much it, except for an accel coil and msd plug wires, oh and i advanced the cam 2 degrees. I also ported the lower intake a little...

    Finally dynoed my car

Yeah, the car is a 5sp, no custom chip or anything, computer is completely stock. I believe my best 1/8th mile is a 7.99 at 88.2, i think i missed fourth on that run (i know, that's hard to do) or it would've been a 12.40's pass in the quarter.

    Finally dynoed my car

When it was dynoed it was at 14 degrees of advance, and it seemed to be running out of fuel and sputtered a few times or i believe it would've been right around 300 even, i should have paid for the wide band, but i'm cheap, so i didn't. The car runs just fine, other than the occasional hunting...

    Finally dynoed my car

Yeah, the car is pretty fun, surprises a lot of people. And thanks, i think the best was when the guy running the dyno came and found me to tell me my car was a freak. Before he ran it he said he didn't understand how i ran it the way it was with a stock shifter, speed density and stock fuel...

    Finally dynoed my car

I was finally able to dyno my car yesterday, been waiting a long time and finally had the chance, and here's how it went... 295 horspower at 5500 and 327 ft-lbs at 3900. Oh yeah, the car is still speed density with a stock fuel pump and injectors with about 186k on them. The car started breaking...

Doing afr165 heads and stock bottom..what else?

Lift is not what gives speed density computers fits, it's duration and lobe seperetion that throw off the vacuum signal. I've been running a h/c/i intake setup with speed density for about three years now, runs just fine, other than the occasional hunting idle. Runs 12.50's with stock injectors...

    re-degree the cam?

I'm currently running all the stuff in my signature, with the b303 having been degreed in 2 degrees advance. I'm now wondering if i should try going straight up to shave a little more time at the drag strip? If anybody has any suggestions it'd be much appreciated. The car is half apart right...

    torn b/w iron gt-40s or afr165!

I'm gonna be one of the very few here to say go ahead and run the b-cam if you can get one cheap. I've been running 165's and a b-cam with a cobra intake for a 3 years now. Still speed density, with stock injectors and fuel pump, it's best is a [email protected]. That was with a 1.78 sixty foot...

    who's running in the 12s?

Afr 165's, b303, cobra intake, stock fuel pump, stock injectors, long tube headers with off road-x, 3.55's. [email protected]. On that run i had 1.79 60 ft. I'm fairly certain it'll run low 40's this year with no other changes.
