    Color Codes

Does anyone know what the top tape deck colored stereo wires go to on a 96 Cobra with the 460 (and CD deck below)? Is it true there is no illumination wire so an aftermarket stereo will not dime with the headlights on? The colors are: Green w/yellow stripe, Black, Yellow w/black stripe...

Factory Fox Gauges W/a Coyote Swap

Doing the research for a Coyote swap in a fox coupe. One issue I've been getting inconsistent answers is whether all the factory gauges can be used. I'd like my interior to stay stock. I've been looking around and some swear you can and others say it's not possible. If it can, how is it...

    Flex-a-Lite

Wiring looks pretty straight forward to install a Flex-a-Lite fan. Where's the best place to tap into an ignition controlled power source?

    Help with Rocker Stud Clearance

I have a set of AFR 165 heads with 1.6:1 Comp Cams gold stud mounted rockers, the factory Cobra valve covers didn't have enough clearance (even though they cleared the stock 1.7:1 roller rockers) so I ordered a set of FRPP EFI covers and they don't fit either. What am I supposed to use?

    Distributor Install

I did the search but I still have one question...when reinstalling the distributor (engine was hand turned over with it out), you want the distributor lined up on the #1 wire (viewed at approximately 12 o'clock) and the balancer lined up between 10-14 degrees, not zero (TDC), right?

    Why split?

The PCV goes to a T and splits, part to the lower middle of the upper manifold and the other to the back lower section of the plenum. Does anyone know why? Just curious.

    Fuel Injector help

Has anyone reused the seal when reinstalling the fuel injectors into the lower intake manifold? For a high pressure fuel line, I'm surprised there in only the one seal on the top and bottom to secure the injector in place. Any cautions to reinstalling them correctly?

    Lifters

I've soaked my new lifters overnight, does it mater which way the oil opening on the lifter is facing when slide into the block? It can be either up or down, with the spider retainer in place. Is one way better than the other?

    oil catch can

Has anyone installed an oil separator to their PCV system? I was thinking of getting one from JLT, but they don't have a "kit" for the 5.0. If anyone has any tips or photos, please share. Thanks!

    Which sensor is it?

Correct me if I'm wrong, in the photo, the yellow-circled sensor is the manifold pressure sensor, and the red-circled sensor is a water temp sensor. How many water temp sensors are there (there's another one on the return line from the heater core)?

    Oil Pressure

Is there a part that allows an aftermarket oil pressure gauge while keeping the factory gauge and light working? Or do I have to fabricate something?

Any reputable shop that has experience with porting a Cobra upper and lower intake manifold in the Wichita, Tulsa or Oklahoma City area?

    Valve Train

Checking valve train geometry looks pretty straight forward. One question, do you need a solid lifter to check? If so, won't that give an incorrect result since no lash is accounted for? If a normal hydraulic lifter is used, won't that also give incorrect results since the plunger will...

    Increased Compression Ratio

When raising the compression ratio (new heads) from the stock 9.0:1 (actually 8.8:1) to 9.44:1, what tuning considerations are there? Will I have to run higher than 91 octane fuel? Do I leave my timing set at 14 degrees? Does the spark plug gap have to be smaller? I'm not planning on using a...

    Lifter Check

I read that when checking the piston-to-valve clearance to make sure the hydraulic lifters do not collapse, what does that mean?

    AFR165 with FRPP E cam

Anyone with a stock short block running AFR165s and a FRPP E cam? I've got the stock pistons and want to make sure the piston to valve clearence will be ok. I'm planning on using 1.6:1 rockers.
