    Reading your post, I guess you didn't realize that the pre '05 Saleen S281s are all 2V motors (including the S281Es). Cobras and S281s do not have the same motor.     Hello. I have #86-012. Early production '86 with the '85 ground effects, early 4-spoke Wolf steering wheel and 15" Hayashi wheels. I removed the wheels in favor of some Work 3-piece 17" wheels. Black w/gray interior, 5-speed. Currently bone-stock (right down to the air intake silencer).

    If it ran good after you disconnected the battery, that's probably because the ECU was heavily compensating for the problems the car had/has and it needed to be "re-learned" after the changes you made. Hopefully, whatever you did cleared the problem. Keep us posted.

    I have some Recaro 'Style' seats in my '90 Convertible. Nothing wrong with the original Flofits that were in there. I just wanted to preserve the original seats since the fabric is no longer available.
