    Just get a proper wheel cleaner. I use Wheel acid diluted 10 to 1 for my stock bullets and you can eat off of them after i am done! It just works through the brake dust and you can wipe it off with a mit and some soap. Check first to be sure the product you are buying is safe for Chrome...

    Blew a headgasket

    Forged block my *ss... Have you checked the parts. My guess is that is a stock block and you broke a rod to vent the block. Have you ever had the car on a dyno since you bought it? Good luck on the TT build. I am sure you can find a great kit on ebay for like $150.00 :shrug::bs:

    I think you will find that the difference between buying the parts and having it built is only a couple hundred dollars. Personally that is worth it just for the warranty and peace of mind. It is certainly something worth thinking about.

    Where are you located? I am sure someone around you may have tires that they are ready to swap out... bald tires are better than belts any day!!! You can also go to some tire shops near you to see if they have any used tires. They will usually work a deal.
