Any suggestions for a GOOD Bank in Portland OR area

Go to OnPoint Credit Union - I think their auto loans are 4.99%, 5.99%, or 6.99%, depending on the year of the car. They do all the normal bank stuff, too (checking and savings, etc.), but not as many branches as WaMu, BofA, and Wells Fargo.

    Accel, Crane, Mallory, Pertronix

I just installed a Pertronic Ignitor (the first, not the second version - I have also heard about problems with version II) and new coil today and noticed instant positive results - smoother idle, smoother acceleration. I haven't adjusted the timing yet, but I was impressed as is. I have not...

Baby Car seats that fit a Mustang

I manage to fit TWO rear facing seats in the back. Unless you're a tall guy, it isn't too bad, although you really can't recline the seat much. I think I posted a picture here or on TMS with both boys looking through the rear window. It'll work, and it's worth keeping your Mustang!

Friends of PIR.... (Potential closure of PIR)

Ditto on Sam Adams - any PDX voters on this board should seriously think about voting for ANYONE besides him. He only hates the track because he is a recent transplant to the neighborhood nearby . . . apparently, he hadn't noticed that the track was there before he got there and probably before...

Hertz Shelby GT-H review and rental experience

Mark25, You're assuming he doesn't drive his regular car that way! I have a GT-H and I probably "abuse" it just as much as the car I rented before and probably not much more than those who rented my car did. Who buys *any* Mustang and doesn't rev the engine, try to peel out, take a corner...

Hertz Shelby GT-H review and rental experience

I was just in Chicago and they had at least 2 convertibles for rent at the airport. Maybe they will move them south when the weather turns? By the way, they don't necessarily list that you can reserve the covertible on he website - you can ask, but no way to know until you show up (and show up...

Hertz Shelby GT-H review and rental experience

Nice write-up / review. I know where 5-0 works, if he won't tell you. ;) $44k is pretty good deal in these parts, especially if you find out the car came from a good rental site. Stan - The first 500 Hertz were '06 coupes and *most* have been auctioned so far. They didn't go back to Ford, as...

    07 Shelby GT trade......

I think the Shelby, besides the added HP that you can get in aftermarket parts and slightly different styling, appeals to those who want a piece of the Carroll Shelby heritage or have something a little different than everyone else. Yes, anyone with a GT can "make" their own Shelby GT, but for...

Super Fast turn signals drive me nuts (1968 coupe)

Posted in the wrong forum the first time . . . I mean SUPER FAST - maybe three or four cycles per second when you indicate Left or Right. Similar to what a new car does when a bulb is out, except I don't have any bulbs that are out. I am not good with electrics . . . has anyone else ever...

Super fast turn signals in a 1968 coupe

Yes, I realize I stuck this in the wrong forum like a dope. Perhaps an admin can move it - couldn't delete.

I mean SUPER FAST - maybe three or four cycles per second when you indicate Left or Right. Similar to what a new car does when a bulb is out, except I don't have any bulbs that are out. I am not good with electrics . . . has anyone else ever had this problem and if so, how did you fix it...

    Wanted: Wheels Cragar

I assume you mean 5 lug wheels, but in case you are looking for 4 lugs, I will have some to sell in a month or so (moving up to 5 lug myself). E-mail me or post here or something.

Front brake swap (1970 into 1968)

Spindles, too. . . No, I got the spindles as well. They are obviously a lot bigger than what's on the I6 and I'll end up replacing tie rods and who knows what else. I didn't know they were valuable, seeing how I paid $10 for them AND the drums and wheels, too. Maybe I can afford those disc...

Front brake swap (1970 into 1968)

I'm in the middle of an I6 to V8 conversion. Picked up the rear end, already have the 289 and auto trans. The guy I bought the rear end from threw in some 1970 drums for $10 with the wheels. I was debating a front disc set-up originally, but time and money make me think about putting it off...
