    I had that luxury and bought my wrecked 03 Cobra to do a mod swap into my 87 coupe. Of course outside of that expense is a lot more, but that 20 k gets you a running donor and then some.

    getting past wheel locks...

    If you don't care about saving the locks, weld a bead across opposite sides of the lock and then turn them off with some vice grips (real ones, not cheapies).

    I think you need to go do a little research for yourself here, man. There are going to be differing opinions on this stuff. Best thing to do is google up some reviews of parts or look for other peoples cars and see what they are running.

    Pulling engine ?

    I pull all of my engines with trans/headers/shifter base still installed. They go back in that way too. All you need is an adjustable engine cradle to go along with your engine hoist.

    Hmm...good question. Not sure. However, I am running an 04 Cobra rack in my mod coupe. It bolts up to the k-frame, but you have to cut the inner tie rods 1/2"-3/4".

    Unburnt fuel enters the exhaust and then ignites. It is tell tale of a rich condition.

    Knock on wood dude. T-5s are weak even under stock conditions. Once you add more power, it is not a question of if, but when. My N/A windsor car that was pushing about 400rwhp ate three of them in a span of a couple years. Alternately, I have blown them out of bone stock cars as well...

    408W ... carb or injected ... opinions

    If you want to do 9s, then go carb. Make sure you KNOW carburetion. It is great that your friend knows carbs, but make sure you learn. It sucks when your carb guy isn't around and you're lighting the bowl on fire with no clue as to what is happening.
