I am not sure if their is a spring., i was going to start with the Cap, and if it still does it, i was going to get new hoses, and raditor for like 215.00.

I have a overheating problem with the 1966. After driving about 10 min the raditor starts to boil and steam comes out of raditor cap. I just replaced the thermostat and it still does the same thing. I did notice I have a small crack in the raditor. Will these still cause overheating...

Where is the thermostat located on the engine block? near raditor?

No the engine does not smoke. it smokes (steams) from the raditor and when i slowly take cap off, smoke (steams) comes from the radiator... It only leaks after i have drove the vehicle....i guess i will look at finding out how to replace the theromstat its to my knowledge that would cost 8...

i feel like a jackass i just got the 66 about 3 months go never drove it at night early day break must have engauged the high beams by accident at some point,.:( Mine is just a solid red indicator. LED...i assumed red= BAD. Thought blue would be high beam but apparently not back then.

Well its simple because after the repairs are done by a licensed shop they have to sign my DMV slip...i cannot do the work on my own...

Update ** UPDATE *** Apparently no body shop can just seal it and patch it for me :(, nor can they do the work. They have told me to bring it to a welder. Now i am looking at a hefty charge to do the rear side right and make it solid throughout. I have a price and now have to wait...ouch....
