    Progress Thread Clean slate!

Ohhh that's purrdy! You're right about the cumulative price tag of $3k. Doesn't seem to matter how you put it together (or buy it all in one), it all seems to land in that neighborhood. She was Meadowlark Yellow originally and some poorly done bright red when I bought her. I have great...

    Progress Thread Clean slate!

Thanks! I live about a half hour west of Ocean City MD and they have two annual cruise-in's that I'd love to ride into, but beyond that, I can't see taking her on any grand road trips - that's what the wife's Suburban is for! For that reason, I hesitate to pursue the MII kits just because of...

    Progress Thread Clean slate!

Thanks 2Blue! Yeah, from this latest session of progress over the last few months, that's all she gave up! I've been very blessed to have an old family friend mentor me in the metal work. I've never even heard of a Mustang 2 swap - guess that wouldn't be advertised on catalogs too much...

    Progress Thread Clean slate!

Thanks! That's what I was hoping/thinking too. She's not meant to be a show car or track car, just something fun to work on with my very young son, to cruise around in, and pass on. Yeah, is like to put disc brakes on the front, but I'd probably just rebuild the drums in the rear.

    Progress Thread Clean slate!

Hey All, I've gotten my '68 coupe back to square one with a whole lot of new metal. She's all cleaned up and sealed up, just about ready to be put back together in slow fashion. Short of what little old paint is left to strip and re-prime, I'm looking towards modernizing the front and rear...

New Paint Job Has Pinholes/pock Marks/hazing

Ugh...sat down to start washing her up for waxing and found a nice sized area on the rear quarter panel full of curly-cues and very light hazing. I'm going to take it up with the insurance office (ha..ha..) but does anybody know if this is something I can easily remedy rather than pitching...

New Paint Job Has Pinholes/pock Marks/hazing

Joke doesn't touch it unfortunately. I took ownership again on Friday. They looked to have fixed the great majority of the issues I had with them. Pock marks are still here and there, but that battle doesn't seem to be negotiable. I'll be giving her a thorough wash/wax this week to engrave...

New Paint Job Has Pinholes/pock Marks/hazing

Sorry I've been MIA. They took the car back - 2 1/2 weeks ago. The shop says they're going to redo the clearcoat and that that should fix the issues. Sorry I didn't get some pictures before it went back. I'm set to pick it up again tomorrow and hopefully I won't have a need to post pics at...

New Paint Job Has Pinholes/pock Marks/hazing

Hey Folks, I've just picked up my '06 from the body shop - it was brutally egged and so the insurance company was nice enough to give her a new paint job. This shop is highly recommended by the insurance office (blue ribbon certified - take that however you like) but I'm having some tough...

    Ace It Polish

Has anybody had any experiences, good/bad/otherwise with Ace It brand polishes? There's a swirl remover, polish, the whole 9 yards out there. One of my buddies swears by it...but being of the old porter cable 3 day buff job project crowd, I'm really skeptical of its longevity and overall...

    Tranny fluid change?

Just to tack onto his question - is there a specific brand/grade of tranny fluid that people in the know use? Is it a different case w/ a manual vs. automatic? Man...horrible noob questions, I apologize! Thanks!

    Stormproof car cover

I have a 4-month old micro-fiber car cover that's worn out its welcome...actually, I sprung for a carport, so its no longer needed. Its in good shape other than black markings where it rubbed against the tires, and it could probably stand to be hosed off. Nice snug fit, doubled up plastic...

    deep dish rear wheels/tires

Hah, I was afraid someone might say how great Nitto's are...pretty well the most expensive ones I've seen but I guess you get what you pay for. And yeah, you're both right, the stockers are polished aluminum. I guess when you get right down to it, the only real matching situation is to end...

    supercharger worries

Yeah I figured its going to happen to an extent, this guy just took a much more alarmist approach to the whole thing. Not that turbos are bad, but I think this guy's a pretty hardcore turbo fanboy  Thanks for the reply!

    deep dish rear wheels/tires

I'm getting ready to beef up my rear traction with some 18x10" deep dishes in the rear. I've been eyeballing the bullitts that american muscle carries here They look like a much shiner chrome than the 18" bullitts that come with the premium GT though. Does anybody know of an 18x10"...

    supercharger worries

So there's a new "friend" hanging out with a bunch of my buddies and I. He seems to be really knowledgeable with engines and was telling me how quickly my blower (Saleen Stage 3 kit from Brenspeed) will destroy my otherwise stock engine. I'm not crazy with the car by any means, so how horribly...
