    TSBs, should I?

    I took mine in for the auto trans leak TSB, the Ford tech said it was overfilled at the factory and pissing excess fluid out the vent tube, which is inside the trans. He said he went ahead and siliconed the bolt holes since he had it apart, but mine wasnt leaking there. Guess time will tell.

    Steering Shake

    Don't understand your diagnoses, are you saying they weren't mounted flat on the hub? Or that they were out of true? An out of true rim can be balanced, it just takes more weight. If these are factory rims, exactly what did the tire shop do to correct it?

    I'm having the same feeling, my car will be in the shop 24 hrs soon, not a word from the dealer yet on the status, and im paying 500 a month to drive a smoky smelling Taurus loaner. If i keep having problems i'll make Ford buy it back and get a 350Z instead. This dealer has been ok so far...

    Should be a warranty issue, take it to the dealer and stand firm. Ford boasted about these new 12 inch brakes so they should back them up if they are warping.

    Use 5 20 Motorcraft oil, seems these engines are weight sensitive. These 3v engines may start showing some problems now that miles are adding up and some time has passed.

    Since the majority of owners are having this problem I checked the owners manual, and found the shimmy is normal, its listed under the "Driver Awareness Motoring Mechanism" or DAMM, which is supposed to remind us all its a Ford.

    There are TSB's on the valve lash adjusters and the VCT phasers. You better get familiar with all the TSB's because the Ford techs arent.

    Agreed. The VCT is a noisy setup to begin with. Ford warns its techs that "most operational noises are normal" with the 3V. Of course that covers their ass when something is wrong, how would you know? Run it till it blows then hope you can get the warranty honored for a new engine

    The 5R55S is not as heavy duty a trans as the 470R was, the jury is out as to how they will hold up to tunes with harder shift points and horsepower adds. Mine is currently being torn out so they can put silicone goop in it to fix a leak that is common with these trans, and my car started...

    Supercharger vs. auto trans

    Guess ill see if the trans even holds up under normal use, I have to take the friggin car in for TSB 06105, fluid leak. Just great, brand new and now off to the dealer to be ripped apart and glued together. Wonder what other problems will pop up afterwards.
