    I use synthetic in all my cars once they are broke in. That black hole is probably a drain to let condensation out so don't plug it up. You'll see a lot of mufflers like that too.

    I've used wet shots before in racing when you're adding 150 hp shots but for a street car a dry shot is much safer. The only solenoid that can fail then is the nitrous and if does nothing happens.

    I doubt it's either the IAC or TPS. Cleaning the IAC is a waste of time 99.9% of the time. I would take it to a good shop before you start throwing parts at it and spending a fortune and having it still not fixed.

    I wouldn't go over a 50 hp shot on a totally stock motor without a tune for nitrous, one that would retard the timing. A 25 - 50 hp dry kit is what I would use. A dry kit is the safest, cheapest and easiest way to gain hp. I would still run higher octane gas and colder spark plugs though...

    Misfire problem solved!

    The last time I replaced the plugs and wires on a Camaro I had with a 3.8 two of the wires and one plug were no good!!! The car ran better before the tune up so you're right, just because they are new doesn't mean they good.

    Are you saying it's trying to start by itself with no key? It could be the starter bedix is stuck. Craw under the car and see if the starter is engaged in the flywheel, it shouldn't be while off.

    I could be wrong but I thought they were all peanut plugs now, even the 5.0. I'd look them up on line and see if they are the larger (3/4") or the small (5/8"). Make sure to use anti seize on them so it doesn't happen again.

    The IAC is probably sticking, it's fairly common. As long as the IAC's motor is working it won't throw a code either even if the plunger isn't moving.

    On the question of the CAI I had one but didn't like the sound of it. It sounds like an air leak to me so I took it off and put in a K & N filter and removed the air silencer from the box.

    Your'e not going to find any for $300.00. Even nitrous will cost close to $500.00 and that's the cheapest power adder there is. Do as ChingonStang suggested and put in lower gears. It won't add power but it will be quicker.

    No internal upgrades will make it sound any different other than a big cam which you don't want. To stroke it means new pistons, rods and crank and usually clearencing the block for the longer stroke. That will give it more power but not sound different.
