    Mustang Steve cable inquiry

I have the same thing in my 68 Cougar- There is not necessarily going to be a hole that you can fit that into. Do you have headers installed? I have had to replace my cable because of routing issues. Make sure you have adequate space around everything, before you drill any holes, or make a...

    hurst shifter ID

I bought a RUG-BJ toploader 4 speed a while ago, that came with a Competition Plus shifter. I know the patent number is not for ID. The other number that I am looking at is 320255G . It came with the trans, that came out of a 72 Mustang. I'm shopping for a pit pack and shifter rebuild kit and...

    Engine Throttle linkage length?

I have a 68 Cougar, with a 93 5.0 motor that I swapped into it. I have resolved all of the annoying problems that came up with this swap, and have now been able to drive the car under its own power a few times around the block. (Must be mindful of Johnny Law, don't cha know....) Anyway. Instead...

oil pan clearance with rack and pinion

I have friend that is getting ready to swap a 93 5.8W into a 70 mustang. He already has installed a rack and pinion steering set up. Does anyone know if the dual oil pan will clear a rack and pinion set up?

    Timing with converted 5.0

So, I taped a "T" pin to the 0 mark, at TDC. My problem was that my distributor was flawed, and this is why it was backfiring out the back. Now I can make a mark and use my adjustable timing light to set initial timing.

    Timing with converted 5.0

Yes, I'm keeping the carb. I've looked at the timing tape but I don't have the tools to find perfect TDC. I already had to cough up for a set of pulley's from CVF racing. Great product, served the purpose and look nice too. I know summit makes a balancer that works perfect ( 3 sets of timing...

    Timing with converted 5.0

So, I haven't been on in forever- a LOT has happened since I was a regular poster. Today's ongoing hassle is trying to get my 68 running. I swapped out the 289 that has NO oil pressure now, once it warms up. That will be a separate thread. I installed a 5.0 out of a 93 Cougar. I left the front...

    1971 Starting Circuit?

I haven't stopped in here for a while, and a LOT has happened in my life since I was a regular visitor. So here is my situation. I am back to work on my 71 Mustang 'sports roof'...I bought the car with no engine or trans. (over 5 years ago now.....) I took a 5.0 out of an 84 Ford F-150, and a...

What The Hell Happened To This Forum?

I posted this same answer in other thread on the board here, but it's just the way my life has worked out. I am spending most of my time trying to finish my 69 Cougar, drive my 68 at least a little bit, and get the 71 mustang ready to sell. I need the money now to help cover the cost of my wife...

Post Pics Of How Your Classic Mustang Currently Sits

I used to visit this site much more often, but I had my own life to deal with, as is so common among we classic car folk. I retired from the military in October of 12, ended up spending a couple years in NY, and finally was able to get a job back out west, where everything I own sat in storage...

    How To Start Build

Also, if you have an automatic transmission, you will need to plan for a torque converter and rear gears to match the cam. Nothing more upsetting, than having a great running engine, that is now slower than it was!

    Intake Suggestions

Pretty much any low profile aluminum intake will do. As you aren't looking for saving 10ths of a second. Even a mid plane intake would be less of a benefit in your goals, as stated. If you are planning other upgrades later, then it will matter more.

    Champion Cc338 Aluminum Radiator Fitment

My issue isn't so much the height of the neck even, as much as the height of the square tank, that comes up over the top of the radiator support. I have seen some that fit the height better, and that is what I am looking for. I hate having spent the money, only to find out years later, (yes...

    Champion Cc338 Aluminum Radiator Fitment

I know I haven't posted anything in a very long time, sadly life has gotten in the way of almost everything I want to do! Anyway, I am slowly getting back to work on my 69 Cougar. I bought a champion radiator CC338, as it was "supposed" to be a direct fit. Sadly, no. My question is, what...

    Toploader To T5 Installation Issues

There is a lot going on here, and I have never owned a mustang with a 6. However, I have done the T5 swap, so I have some small input. Now, a few obvious questions. Have you got any pictures of these pieces? The seller "said", but he may not remember exactly. I do know that some Ford 6 cylinder...

Fmx To T5 Swap Parts List Help

Also, regarding the hydraulic or cable question, a lot depends on if you already have long tube headers installed. The cable usually wants to go right thru the space where the # 7 tube goes. Hydraulic mounts closer to the firewall
