Which carb for my set up...

If you don't mind poor fuel mileage, go with the DP 600. The 570 will do everything the 600DP will, but the mileage will be much better. You can fine tune the 570's secondaries to open sooner (Holley usually installs a heavy spring that refuses to let the secondaries open until you hit about 5...

Which carb for my set up...

670's a bit on the big side, but the secondaries can be tuned to open with your combo at a more oportune time. A 650 DP will kill the bottomend slightly more than the 670, depending on how you use your right foot. If you want a DP carb, go with the 600. Just remember, the bigger you go on the...

    69 Grenada disc help

Ditto, the Granada hoses are nothing close to fitting a 69 Mustang. Use 69 Stang hoses and ifm the ends are different, there are adapter fittings to fix this.

    Ignitor I--Starting Issues

You do know that there's 2 TDC's for each engine cycle ? If it won't start on TDC, then rotate the crank one more time around to TDC again and reset the firing order on the distributor cap. And set the timing to 12* BTDC instead of 6*. 6* is retarded, litterally. It'll run better at 12*. And...

What is the plate called between the motor and the trans?

When you remove it, you need to carefully inspect the flexplate for cracks too. A cracked flexplate will also cause the noise you descibe.

What is the plate called between the motor and the trans?

It should flatten out once you sandwhich it in between the block and bell housing and tighten the bolts. It's called a block plate and it's what indexes the starter to the flyweel/flexplate.

    vacuum question 68 302

Be that as it may, 30 inches of vacuum is not a bad thing. The more it'll pull at idle, the healthier your bottom end is.

what is the must have tools to keep in your fox?

This ain't a thread about the Sopranos.:rlaugh: You would also need a car with a bigger trunk than a Mustang. ;) Unless you chop up the body first. But that's messy.:D

what is the must have tools to keep in your fox?

:D :D Yea, but those 12mm end wrenches do come in handy on old 1/2" battery terminal bolts.:nice: And you will need a few when swapping in a later model 5.0. Like the pressure plate bolts.

    1994 351W Roller Engine Question

"E7" denotes an 87 part. The block casting numbers will tell you what year/day/month it was cast. This is a number/letter/number combination cast somewhere near the enginerring numbers (which will be F4TE on a 351W roller block. The first number is the year, the letter is the month code and the...

    1970 Mach I FMX Help!

The good news is an FMX is tougher than a C-4. So you'll only be doing this once.

    302 Clevor question

Um, sort of. The Boss 302 came first. And wasn't done on 351W blocks until the 80's. It's a Boss, not a Clevor. The U.S. 2 bbl heads have huge open chambers, not good for building compression and definately not good at controling detonation. The 2 bbl Aussies are a good compromise for the...

    1970 Mach I FMX Help!

Sounds like time to rebuild it, but I'm not an automatic transmission expert. Is it full of fluid ?

Made up my mind for a 331 stroker.

New springs aren't a given with aftermarket heads. It depends on what springs are on them. I used the springs that came on mine with both a B303 (on the first build, a 306) and the Z303 cam I'm running now in the 331. And the raised ports aren't an issue at all. As a matter of fact, I ran only...
