Torque box + chassis stiffening plans.

I'm looking into making my own torque box plates and any other chassis stiffening components (through floor subframe connectors) possible. Is there a link to plans/drawings for these parts.

    Electrical Gremlins

I'm not sure if they share the same relay/power source. If you check around some of the electrical threads around here you could find it. The only way to hunt the gremlins is to start at the end or beginning of the circuit and work your way in. That will get them!!!

    Electrical Gremlins

Remove your right front wheel well and get to your horns by the core support. The clicking noise you are hearing should be the horn relay. 1st, use a dmm and see if your getting 12 volts @ the horn when you press it @ the steering wheel- It is possible that the horns might not work or the...

Oil Pressure and Water Temp Gauge Questions

Call up Autometer to get the right adapter for your temp gauge. They will send it for free if your nice. Otherwise you'll have to get it from Summit and pay 6 bucks for the part and $20 for s/h.

    Need New Convertable Top.

Somehow while I was @ work yesterday the kid across the street kicked a football up in the air and it landed inside my 87 lx convertable. So the wife calls to tell me that the ball went right through the middle of my roof and that the kid was sorry and was going to pay and all that good stuff...

    Hego boss in shorty headers?

I read the thread about tailpipes vs dumps and currently I'm the hillbilly truck with dumps. I do have turn-ups and exhaust tips that I never put on (lazy) because I wanted a new x pipe 1st. I'm also running rich and I'm still figuring that out. So, ive got the x pipe coming soon and I...

Spout Connector - what does it connect to?

In my experiences the wire colors may not match up but the pin locations will always remain the same. To make yourself feel better about it- do a continuity check between the suspect wire and the appropriate pin @ your pcm and that will show that it is the correct wire.

    Head unit problems

There might be a fuse inline on the wiring harness for the deck. Check for constant power between yellow + and black - @ the back of the deck. Then check for switched power with key in either accy or run and check between red + and black - @ back of the deck. When checking, make sure the...

3G Alternator Install: A How To

FWIW the fuse should be as close to the alternator as possible. -less than 18 inches. The fuse is used to protect the wire and electronics behind it and should be placed @ the power source side of the run. And once again, ground (make sure it's a good ground) with whatever gauge you ran your...

    Still running RICH.

Great feedback. I will check for constant 12v @ pin 1 and see what I get. I do have a "superchip" that is custom burned for this setup and a proM maf meter that is scribed with "24lb" in one of the lines for model or s/n and I do have 24 lb'ers. A little history of my ignorance. I got the...

    Still running RICH.

 Ok, I checked for codes and I got 15, 67, 81, and 95 for KOEO and 30, 40, and 67 for saved codes. I could not get KOER codes out of her. The story: My car stinks like gas and I see smoke every once in a while. I've got the useless narrowband a/f gauge and it is telling me that...

    O2 sensors- 3wire and 4 wire.

So check between the signal and ground when heating and look for voltage or power it up on the bench and read between signal and ground with heat? I physically checked for vac leaks and even capped as much stuff off of the tree and intake and didn't get any response. I even checked with carb...

    O2 sensors- 3wire and 4 wire.

I've got 4 wire O2 sensors in my car right now and the female (vehicle side) only has 3 wires because it's an 89. So the missing wire is the heater ground I would assume. I'm running rich and I'm sure that these are the culprits. They only read .1-.3 volts on my B.O.B (which is lean). #1...

    Running rich, I think.

I have not driven this much in the past 3 years of having it (maybe 100 miles) because it just doesn't run just right and it doesn't really stink of unburned fuel but it stinks to high heaven. I have dumps on her and I sometimes get gray smoke. I checked each cylinder and they all were about...

    Firewall hole

I don't have any open grommets in the bulkhead. I also will not route them through the steering boot. I know you guys have done this, (tastefully) so please let me know what the trick is. If I need to pull the dash to do this correctly then I will. Thanks in advance again.

    Firewall hole

I've got an 87 Lx Vert 5.0 and I've got some shinny new gauges to install. I'm going to fab up a tripple pod for my center dash vents. I need to route the tubing for both the Mech oil pressure and Mech water temp gauges. I've only got 6' to work with. Where is the best spot to go through the...
