Yeah I won't blame the rebuilt engine. I think the previous guy was the problem. I know now that it already had that broken piston when I got it. Surprised more wasn't damaged with the tune he had on that chip. Could have already had some damage to the bearings and I finished it off.

Is the battery cable the only thing you disconnected? Did you disconnect the big wiring harness connector? Also, I had ended up with water in my ECU connector(inside the car) I was causing all sorts of craziness including the theft light and no starting.

Got the crankshaft turned... New bearings... Got it all together, fired it up found it knocking above 2000rpm. Thinking something was for sure wrong with the bearings again, I pulled the engine the next day. Only took me 2 hours to pull the engine the second time though and 4 hours...

Yeah I don't know how it got there, but the connecter to the ECU inside the cabin was full of water. Everything else was dry. You should also check your sensor voltages. Mine were going all over the place. I spent all day tracing and checking wires. The OHM meter wasn't showing any abnormalities...
