current setup: 87 mustang GT hatch, Jazz 20g steel fuel cell, AN fittings and fill port on top, rubber bladder and foam inside. Theres a flexible pickup inside, hooked up to an external filter housing, then an Edelbrock FI pump and then forward to a NA FI 302. The floor was cut to fit the...

    lifting rear tire

wow, that was quite an article. I must be at least a little smarter now. I'm gonna get the rear tires off and get a better idea of angles, then give MM a call. Thanks for the tips and the link 347!

    lifting rear tire

I should probably learn myself a little more 4-link geometry. I was thinking about it, and if it's an angle issue, it would depend upon the incidental angle between the two arms and they're length, right? Well, by installing the torque arm and removing the uppers it changes that geoetry, but I...

    lifting rear tire

Well, I tried to check it out but it was hard to get a good look at without moving my subaru (thats up on jackstands right now) and taking a tire off. The MM LCA's are bent into a J to allow for the adjustable spring perches so an angle reading would be incorect, but I'd guess the difference...

    lifting rear tire

yeah, I should probably do that. They were really helpful when we bought this stuff. Not sure on the LCA angle, I was looking through my pics and couldn't find a good one of that. I'll probably be at my shop today, I'll check it out.

    lifting rear tire

with the MM suspension I don't even have uppers any more, it's a 3 link with adjustable lowers, a 'torque arm' and a panhard bar. I think that system is designed to eliminate what your refering to, but I'm pretty dumb on suspension tuning. I'm also not in any position to be redesigning this rear...

    lifting rear tire

I'm in alaska and my car only get driven a few times a year, in the past 4 years it's only been driven on the track. I road race it, and unfortunatly we don't have many oppourtunities to 'tune' our cars on the track (it's only available 2x a year and is located about 350 miles away from home)...

    Baer brake ?'s

oj hears a short story. I bought a car with some mods already. One was Baer 13" brakes. I think they're the 'Baer Claw' Track Package Brakes. I need some pads. I'd also like to get some for the rear. Anyone know any defining features of the different packages, or different grade baer brakes...

    next upgrade I am cheap

right on brother, I'm right there with ya. I hate when I drop a grand and can't tell the difference, of find out there was a better way to spend it. Personaly, I've never noticed a great gain from exhaust mods without other supporting mods. Just an exhaust on an otherwise stock motor never feels...

    starter hangs up

huh. So, your starter sticks and continues to crank? I don't see how your fan would affect it... Try jump starting it or charging your battery up, then you can eliminate any worries about you alternator causing it. If you can hit your solonoid and make it stop, I guess I'd suspect arcing and...

    Need help with wheel sizing.

I run 275/40r17's on Maximuim Motorsports Koning rims. They're 17x9 w/ about a 6" backspacing, I'm not exactly sure what the offset is on them. I have some cobra rims that look to be about the same size but I haven't test fit them yet. I had to 'roll' my fenders and use a bit of a spacer on the...

    AOD Tranny Temps???

quote: As a rule of thumb, every 20 degree increase in operating temperature above 175 degrees F. cuts the life of the fluid in half! According to the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association, 90% of ALL transmission failures are caused by overheating. And most of these can be blamed on...

    AOD Tranny Temps???

I don't know what you should see, but the derale cooler is good. Some people say that a bigger pan isn't neccesarily good, and your fluid will cool better if it makes more trips to the cooler and less time sitting in the pan. As I recall, 230+ is really bad, 200+ is not good but ok for short...

under boost at high rpm, boost needle shakes fast, any ideas?

^^ yeah. My truck does that under heavy load. Does it make any noise? Sound like a turkey? If it's surging, it's stalling the intake airflow and creating a shockwave, basicaly your cavitating your impeller.

    next upgrade I am cheap

well, he said he wanted the best 'bang for the buck' ratio, and he was cheap, not broke. I'm willing to spend more money if I feel there will be less money wasted. Also forgot to mention... posi=positraction, just slang for a trade name, it's still a limited slip differential. Maybe your...

    O/D OFF light flashing

I don't know about mustangs, but that year superduty will do the same thing with different sized tires, gears, a loose speed sensor plug on the rear diff or a faulty speed sensor. As mentioned, get it scanned. I think ford stuff all goes throught the same OBDII plug but may take a different or...

Heads or gears. Unless your very mechanical I'd suggest paying someone else to do the gears... obviously you can handle the heads. I have 3.73 and am pretty happy with them, 4.11 will also work if you don't do much hiway driving. Consider gears as a mathmatical equation, affecting the...

    Head studs or bolts?

pro's are you get full engement in the head, much stronger than bolts. With the aformentioned head gaskets you'll get a more reliable combustion chamber seal.
