+1 it will clear, my brother has Welds for track duty on his 5 lug '83 with "GT PBRs" The Cobras require 17" rims as mentioned above.

For me the GT tails fit in with the whole overall look of the car. If yours are clean then sport 'em. If you need replacements i've seen alot of nice Cobra style as well as the 87-83 LX style. That's what makes these cars great: OPTIONS!
