Gasket goo (perma-gasket?) for the oil pan gasket?

I don't have the facilities to do the work. Outside, or a very small garage, and minimal tooling (for the time being, anyway).

Gasket goo (perma-gasket?) for the oil pan gasket?

I need to have the oil pan gasket replaced on the '89 5.0. I was told it's about a 4 hour job due to the shape. This will cost close to $350 to have it done. Could I lower the pan just a half inch and use gasket goo? A bead on the inside and tighten it up.

    Tune up advise please

It may be just a rumor, but I've heard people check the timing, also. Replacing parts is not a tune-up.

Where to buy a FL1A filter?

I've been told they are around $3 to $4 at Walmart. Great price but it makes me wonder. These aren't made in China, are they? I hope not.

    Motorcraft Oil Filters

$3.00? I thought these were the good filters? Is it just a good deal (compared to the $10 K&N quality)?

    Motorcraft Oil Filters

Where can I buy these for a 5.0 in the Seattle area? Obviously, Schuck's don't carry them. I'll probably buy 4 just to have a stock on hand (for the two 'stangs in the corral).

V8 discontinued after LX Foxes only?

I really like my '89 LX with the V8. I don't really need to have my '92 GT options all the time. With the 2.73 gears and the creature comfort, the LX is a great cruising vehicle. Plenty of power, strong and smooth. I also prefer a cloth interior (is cloth available on GTs?). It would be nice...

V8 discontinued after LX Foxes only?

It seems only Fox LXs had an option for a V8. Odd that one has to buy a GT to get a V8 in the newer Mustangs.

1992 GT EEC test connector diagram?

Great info. Yeah, I don't see the ignition/fuel pump correlation at all. Thanks.

1992 GT EEC test connector diagram?

Well, I have to be out of town. A repair shop says that my fuel pump is out and also the "Ignition control module". I'm assuming this is the main brain. I'm having a problem seeing how both of these could go bad at the same time. Did doing the fuel pump test on the ECM connector destroy this...

1992 GT EEC test connector diagram?

Thanks. My '92 has a different connector and different wire colors. As far as I know it's stock. Hmmm.

1992 GT EEC test connector diagram?

I guess if the links in the forum below can lead to 1992 info, that would be good also. http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=724335

1992 GT EEC test connector diagram?

I found a diagram for the earlier models but not for a 1992 GT. Anyone know where I can find the diagram? I want to see if the fuel pump is working. Thanks!

91 5.0 GT FUEL PROBLEMS, PLEASE HELP!!!

What is an ECU that bobster_14 above replaced? The term appears nowhere in this thread. His initial symptoms sound a lot like mine.

Power to EEC on Pin 1, no relay power out on pin 37

Great info. I just got a pump problem. Now I get to dig in and find out why. All of this is helping. Odd that I've never heard the relay under the driver's seat. It must be quiet.

    Fuel Pump Issues

Glad I found this thread. I went to start my '89 LX and didn't hear the priming. Of course, the car doesn't start, but I am getting spark. All of the fuses in the panel are good. I'll try to check the relay, too. Does the pump "prime" when it is fooled into running as described above? I...

    Raised white letter tires

Yeah. the idiot that put on the tires concaved my center caps. Dumbass. Raised white letters is a look from the 1960s on American cars. Perhaps even from the 1950s. The 1970s brought on the Cragar mags and perhaps the white letters, too. But the 80s? The 80s brought on the Datsuns and other...

    Raised white letter tires

"Stock car" is that racing classification. I always liked watching Stock car races rather than the Indy 500 type. Something about the stickers, raised white letters, shaker hoods, and all that. They just looked meaner. I put on a Flowmaster II (I think) exhaust so this thing rumbles nicely...

    Raised white letter tires

I think they look good. It gives my 89 LX a stock car look. These are BFGoodrich Radial T/As. For $400 I can't complain.
