    Need Help!! '96 Cobra overheating!

First of all, get the radiator fixed or replaced. The Steeda unit is not a bad idea. With a hole in the radiator you are wasting your time in messing with other issues of the cooling system. Once the radiator is fixed/replaced, then fill the system 70 30 mixture and add Redline Water Wetter...

96 Cobra - No power when hot

Do as 5.0's 4 ever says, get an aftermarket radiator in there. If you don't want to spend the bucks for a chip burn with different fan settings then put a Hayden fan controller (about $60) in parallel with the high speed circuit of the fan. Change the thermostat to a 180 as stated before, run...

Im cutting off my sub-frame connecters

Sounds more like power train issue not subframe. Correctly installed subframes can only benefit a mustang. Improperly installed you are more apt to have issues with not being able to align, won't track straight, doors won't seal or close I agree with everyone here. Don't remove the subframes.

    96 cobra fix?

As far as the cooling "problem" goes that is essentially what is needed. The cooling issue is really the A/C condensor position in front of the radiator and that the cooling fins on it are so tightly spaced. The existing radiator is aluminum but the cooling capability is reduced by the A/C...

    96 cobra fix?

The Ford cooling "fix" didn't always work according to some threads I've read on various forums. Best is to use aftermarket parts (Steeda, flodyne, etc) radiator and install yourself. The Ford fix would set you back about 1200 in parts + labor. I have seen some butchered installs of this...

96 sits low on one side

I don't have the service CD here. Yes the springs are identically wound. So, The end of the spring should be at the rear when the spring is in the mount and pointing to the drivers side of the vehicle.

96 sits low on one side

You might want to check the upper and lower spring isolators. Make sure they are not damaged. Mine had worn through. Also, the rear springs must be properly "clocked" to sit correctly. The end of the spring should point to the drivers side at the back on both left and right springs. If...

IN NEED OF HELP!!! BRAKE SYSTEM!

The first response was correct. What makes you think that the "system" is insufficient. You have 13 inch rotors to start with. From your second post it sounds like you have a need for different pads. The stock ones are for normal street driving. If you are agressive then a different pad is...

just a quick question about wide band o2's

IMO the 4.6 is notorious for breaking hole 7 or 8. If I was doing it, I would put the O2 on that side.

    Low Coolant light

Again, you may get a temp spike but not necessarily. I'd still burp the system first. The temp sensor is in the crossover tube just below the alternator on the passenger side.

Go back to the basics. Since you just bought it. How old is the battery? Have it tested. 1. Change fuel filter. 2. Check fuel pressure Key on Engine off about 35 lbs. 3. Engine run Idle Fuel pressur should be about same. 4. Since it is a 98. change the plugs and wires...

    high mile cobras

It all depends on how the vehicle is maintained. As far as the motor goes, it is just as good or better than any other. An example --- My cobra has nearly 70K miles on it. Last 15K are mostly track miles. Still runs great. My wife's Cadillac Eldo with the Northstar motor puked it at...

    98 cobra front end popping

Your expanded description sounds like the caliper(s) are sticking. It shoud float freely on the pins. If the top of the caliper is rusty, clean with some emery cloth and apply a very light coat of high temp wheel bearing grease to the wedge area only. Be careful that you do not put enough...

03 cobra rear vibration at 80mph and up

Don't know if this is your issue but have heard that many stock or OEM replacement axles are out of round/not straight. I do know of a few in the clubs out here have replaced with ford part mutiple times and finally fixed the whine by switching to Strange or Moser axles. I'd check to see if...
