    Battery terminal fuse

GREAT! You have the confidence and skill set to DIY. I apologize that I seemed too critical in my last post. Anyway, you can build a fused circuit for about $15 with the following parts (click on the link): 1. In-line MAXI fuse holder (6 awg lead wire) 2. 120 amp MAXI fuse Of course, if...

    Battery terminal fuse

Hello, based on your last comments I am concluding that you are not overly familiar with automotive electric circuits. Also, I have the distinct impression that you have re-wired by eliminating the 120 amp fuse holder and going direct to the battery. Sorry if I sound like a dutch uncle but the...

    Battery terminal fuse

What you're describing sounds messy but is simply an alternative to the factory wiring. Originally, the alternator wire (6 awg - if i remember correctly) has a fusible link at the battery end (identifiable by its blue color) to protect the wire in case of overload. The fuse box wire was direct...

Suspension Help A Noob Out Please

IMHO, if your initial intent is auto-x, I think springs, dampers and front sway bars and caster/camber plates is where to start. When you get into the straight line stuff then do control arms, relocation brackets and PHB. Of course, the right tires is an absolute necessity to AX. Just my .02.

Electrical Revs at idle running like crap

You'll need to write the codes down and tell us what that are. Otherwise, we'll have to do a process of elimination which could get expensive for you. The passenger door issue may not be related depending on what "wonky" means and what certain spot you're pressing in order to make it work. It...

abs and tcs lights stay on

Sounds like one of your wheel sensors is faulty. There is one on each wheel which feeds wheel speed to the ecu for abs and traction control.

    saleen pod gauge

The gauges are press fit into the pod. If it's too loose just wrap electrical tape around the leading edge of the gauge until it's tight enough for your liking.

    saleen pod gauge

The only way to fit Autometer gauges is to cut into the dash. I have Nexus gauges and they look great BUT you have to be careful when you measure and cut because there isn't much margin for error. I made a template of the gauge pod, traced it onto the dash and cut inside the margins. It's...

    Whats next?

Agreed. IMHO, I would start with rear upper and lower control arms to prevent wheel hop. All the power upgrades are useless if you can't put it to the ground.

    Interior Lighting (map Lights)

Did you check the connector in the passenger side A piller? If not, pull the A piller cover off on the passenger side - the connector is at the middle part of the piller.

Engine Cold Air Intake Vs. Ram Air Hood

The stock airbox has a clamp down cover on it so a ram air hood would be useless. A CAI/Tuner combo with a program from a reputable dealer is worth 20-25 rwhp.

There is an active thread on this subject in the Saleen forum. It seems the dealer is trying to rape you at $26k for an '05 NA. The guys on the forum are really helpful (like the folks here) so check out the thread and ask questions. Here's the link...

Noob Help Cali car vs other states car

As I understand it, all new cars manufactured by Ford for sale in the U.S. are 50 state legal. The difference is that cars sold in CARB regulated States must have CARB certification. The EPA requires that States adopt either California or Federal clean air standards. So, because California...

I hate to ask this question about splitters.....

I recently read a couple of quotes in Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords; one by Jay O'Connell who was the Chief Engineer at SVT during the development of the GT500. "once the concept car's front end was redesigned to achieve upper and lower grille openings, it was discovered that the more...

    Screwed By Steeda

I think fundamentally you are right. My suspension parts, fuel rail and strut tower bar are exclusively Steeda and I never had a problem getting those parts from them. But I had two occasions when I needed small replacement parts and had a hell of a time getting any action. The parts were...
