in vegas and went to the shelby factory

Last year my girlfriend rented a Shelby GT-H convertable (#33) for my birthday out in Vegas and we drove to the Shelby factory. It was cool to see some of the old historic AC Cobras that I've only seen pictures of. I wasn't really let down because I had no idea what to expect. I thought it was...

    Which Shocks/Struts?

Tokicos are not valved to handle those spring rates, it might feel fine at first but you are only throwing your money away. The two shocks valved to handle that spring rate is Koni and Bilstein. I know they are expnsive but if you buy right the first time it's cheaper in the long run. I have...

    Pypes cat back

Good quality, good price I'm happy with them. Even though it is a straight through muffler, I felt it was quieter than a Flowmaster 3 chamber.

opinions on a 3 link suspension

I can't say enough great things about putting a panhard bar in. By switching to lower control arms with a delrin bushing and installing a panhard bar the car has become so much more predictable in the coner. When the budget allows I'll be installing a Torque arm and getting rid of my stock upper...

    humming noise, U-joint?

It's humming because it doesn't know the words. But seriously, if the noise is there when the car is in or out of gear I don't think it's a u-joint. Wouldn't the sound be greater if it was under load? What about a wheel bearing?

    Question about Tokico HP install

It is the bump stop. You need to have them installed to prevent damage to the strut.

    Buying uppers/lowers, which one?

don't touch the uppers. Read MM's website for the reason why. Stay with something that has a delrin bushing on one side so the rear end won't bind.

Does anyone know of some good 2 or 4 piston brake kits for the rear? (fixed calipers)

Oops, I just noticed the brake kit. OK forget the pad thing and focus on the brake dive. You already got the goods, you just need to use them to their potential.

Does anyone know of some good 2 or 4 piston brake kits for the rear? (fixed calipers)

I would change to a more responsive brake pad like Hawk Plus or EBC Red. Do you have stainless steel brake lines? They help add pedal firmness and better feel to the braking threshold. The front brakes handle about 70% of the stopping duties in a stock four link suspension. Maybe a torque...

    Strut tower brace help

I get what you are saying about the weight, but I don't think a couple of pounds will make that big of a difference in our already portly cars. In the grand scheme of things it all adds up and I like where your head is. Colin Chapman would be proud (he founded Lotus).

    Strut tower brace help

I wonder if it is because yours is a 96-98. Is it a different part # for the 99-04s?

    Strut tower brace help

I have the Steeda strut tower brace and this is my story: (1) my car is an 02 GT (2) it says to remove the plastic cowl at the base of the windshield, mine cracked when I took it off. I think I paid around $100 dollars for a new one from Ford. (3) setting the brace on the strut towers...

    Improper subframe connector installation

I would grind off the subframes and have a shop you trust either weld the old subs back on, or buy new ones. If you plan on getting a torque arm some day get the subs from the manufacturer who makes the torque arm you want. Remember it's just metal, it can be fixed. Good luck

    Why and is it normal?

Are the bottom ends of the rear springs both turned to the drivers side or the 9 O'clock position? If not this would cause one side to sit higher. Also take of the shocks and press them in by hand to see if they move through their entire range of motion.

    Bullitt suspension package

The kit is a great deal if you stop there and are happy with it. But, if you someday want a more agressive sping rate you will need to upgrade your shocks and struts acordingly. If you are shopping for caster camber plates and are not going to use a coil over set-up down the road just about...

Griggs, you get what you pay for. Steeda is interested profit margins not quality.

    Just got some new rims

You only need CC plates if the shop can't get the car back into spec. Offset bushings and a bump steer kit should not needed with a 1 1/2" drop.

    Just got some new rims

Good stuff man. It kinda has a euro-touring well rounded look to it. Like a souped up bimmer or something. Oh.. how about.. a weight lifter in a nice suit. And yes that is compliment.

    Subframe Preference?

MM full length welded in +1. You can't use side pipes w/ subframes unless you mod. them. I'm not a huge fan of the company mentioned above so I say use MM, I have them and they are great.

Bilstein sport coil overs(front) w/375lb springs

Call MM and see what they say. 375 lbs springs in a coil over set-up is race car territory. They will be able to help you out just let them know what you have in mind for your car. As far as bumpsteer goes the only way to check it is with a bumpsteer gauge. Don't use the X2 balljoints (or...
