Is this a good idea for my 65 I6

Thanks Thank you all for your input. I had the car up at the mechanic who has been familiar with it for a while. He thinks it is in good shape and just needs some proper tuning. I am going to let him try to get it right for me as he seems sure he can and we will see what happens from there...

Is this a good idea for my 65 I6

Hi All, I have a 65 convertible 200 I6 automatic. The engine seems to have a lot of blow by going on, oil boils out from one of the sparkplugs, smoke from the oil dipstick, if I don't take the sparkplugs out and clean them every 20 miles or so it runs very rough (especially after highway...

    Direct Cool Air to snorkel

Hi All, I am trying to find out if anyone has ever made the modification mentioned in the Falcon 6 performance book where they suggest ducting air through a hole in the radiator support directly to the snorkel. I do not see any posts about people doing this. Has anyone tried it? How did it...

    Brake Switch Change?

Thanks! This is what I was looking for, it tells me that I need to put a 67 switch in my 65. I was trying to get a handle on if there was a 65 switch I should be using, but it seems that there was no power disc switch for them. I will look into the one for 67. Any input on the "floppy pedal"...

    Brake Switch Change?

I don't think there is a bushing on the pedal pin, but I will need to check. The pedal does flop around, we thought we needed to bleed it some more, but perhaps there is something else going on not-quite-right? I am going to try to call Mustangs Unlimited tomorrow to see about these different...

    Brake Switch Change?

Hi All, The recent Mustang Monthly has a letter from C.J. Rousse stating that when you do a power brake conversion he found he needed a new brake switch. He says the brake lights will not come on properly otherwise. I did this conversion using SSBS this fall (front power disc brakes, rears...

    3-point seat belt for convertible

You all have provided me with great ideas! Thanks! I guess if the car is so unsafe I will just have to go out without the kids more! BTW, I'm not handing in my keys either. ACS

    3-point seat belt for convertible

It sounds like there are 3 paths here: 1) put in a roll bar and hook them to that. 2) Attach them too low and possibly they are dangerous. 3) Add new seats. I have to admit I am not crazy about adding a bar or different seats, I really like the car the way it is. Mike, do you have a picture...

    3-point seat belt for convertible

Hello, I have been searching, but cannot find information on if it is possible to install 3-point seat belts into my 1965 mustang convertible. Does anyone have comments on doing this? I was just hoping to make the car a bit safer (front and back seat). Thank you. ACS
