    Saleen 2001 S281 Sc Tranny?

Check the code on the door tag, first digit under TR in the lower right corner. It should be K meaning you have a TR-3650 5-speed transmission made by Tremec which is standard for 2001. The 6 cylinder cars should have a 2 or 5 which is for the T-5.

    Is Borla worth the money?

Not sure about that.... I was told the 2011 Saleen came with Zoomers mufflers...

    Tuners around NJ

Stay away from a formerly-prominant shop in sayreville unless you want to blow up your car... I had a lot of work done on my 99 Saleen by Big Daddy in Lakewood, very happy with the work they did. Not cheap but I had a lot of issues with the car, they called every time the found something...

    Opinion on wheels?

If they are stock wheels/tires, they should fit your car. There is no difference in the outside tire dimension from the 18's to the 19's, the only difference is the rim diameter. I have 275/20's on my 2011 Saleen and they don't rub. The larger rim diameter means the tires themselves have...

paint protection / clear bra ?

$750 to have it done on my 2011 Saleen Convertible... already saved me a couple of spots. The line on the hood is about 8 inches up from the front edge... In daylight, it's pretty much invisible unless you are really looking for it. On the hood, it's most obvious if you are standing by the...

How many Miles on your 5.0 when you picked it up?

Mine had 24.1 miles on it when it came off the car carrier from Saleen but it was in their showroom for several months.... Interesting, my grabber blue 2011 was originally ordered by someone else. Just as Saleen was finishing up the car, the person changed their mind and ordered a Kona Blue...

    Skip shift question...possibility?

I've driven stick for almost 30 years and the skip-shift 'feature' is the biggest pain in the you-know-what... My 2011 Saleen break-in recommends keeping it under 4K RPM for the first 500 miles and under 5K RPM for the first 1000 miles. Needless to say, trying to keep the RPM's down plays...

    break in procedure

The break-in instructions that came with my 2011 Saleen say to keep it under 4K rpm for the first 500 miles, under 5K rpm for the first 1000 and change to 5w20 full synthetic at 500 miles... a bit on the conservative side IMHO but I'm trying....

    Got My New Wing Today

Because Saleen doesn't have it on their website and I don't think they offer it unless you order it on a car... Mine came on the car but I was told it was around $1500.

That would be different... I have to get a picture of the bright atlantic blue next to the grabber blue, they are much closer than I expected.

    SVT or Saleen brakes?

Not sure about the SVT brakes, I'm pretty sure SPV said that the Saleen kit is made by Stoptech. I asked about it because I was concerned about getting parts down the road for my 11.

When the simplest things go wrong!

Putting the intake manifold on the 1970 block for my Daytona coupe... went to put the intake manifold stud in the head before I lowered the intake, oops, still had the nut on the stud. Unthread the nut and dropped it... right into the open port on the head which happened to have an open...
