    Google the VIN and see if it hit any car lots or salvage yards. I did it for my wife's Altima and found it wrecked on a salvage site, pretty sad. You could pay for a carfax if you are that interested.

    If you flash the ECM with a "tune" you should not have a problem with speedo. Any decent programmer will allow for gear changes and/or tire size.

    Try running a full tank of the higher octane (91). If that helps and you have a fresh tune up then you might be due for a seafoam treatment to clear deposits on the valves and pistons. I'm not a big fan of seafoam, but it might help.

    NO. Throw a K&N filter in the stock airbox if you want to change something, but the answer is NO. A tune with the stock intake is worth more than a cheap CIA without a tune.

    I'll second that. Plus, when you push it to the floor and it won't go into gear. When you smell burning clutch. When you push on the gas and it slips! If you don't have any signs, don't change it.

    I grew up in WV. We had it all; salt, cinders, and BAD pothole infested roads. I drive my car almost all year here in Charlotte NC and garage it every night. The trusty 18 year old F-150 takes up the slack when the weather is bad. ;)
