    65 Drip Rail Removal

I removed my rails on my 65 coupe. I did it when I replaced the roof. For you I would recommend doing it a section at a time. Say cut off a foot of the rail and weld the seam. Because once you cut the rail all the way off your roof is no longer attached to the car except by the welds around...

    Blasting

1500 seems awful steep. I looked into having mine done before I settled on doing it myself and it would have cost 500. You should shop around a little on that. priming cost seems a little high too.

    Built a Rotisserie

Nice. Where did you hook it up at in the back? I made the mistake of hooking mine to the rear bumper mounts so now I have to move it down to the rear leaf mounts do work on the back of the car.

    Vent Window Delete Kit??

I did some searching a while back as i would like to remove my wing windows on my 65 coupe. I couldn't find what I wanted. looked like I was going to have to have a piece of glass made for both sides if I wanted it done. Keep us posted if you find a place that has them. I would still like to...

    Sandblasting DIY?

I went to Lowes and bought bags of sand off their shelve. IIRC it was medium grit playground sand. The pot size is not as important as the size of your air compressor. I have a 60 gal and it was not big enough. It did the job but I was waiting for the compressor to fill up all the time. I...

    COOL RESTOMOD CUSTOM 66

I am also interested in your door handles. I was originally wanting do do something along the lines that you went but couldn't think of a good way to fabricate the handles. So I just shaved em. I would like to see how you did it though. Nice work.

    Stripping?

It depends on the finish that you have on your car. When I painted my exploder i sanded it but left the paint on the car and did my body work over it. On my mustang I blasted the whole car to remove all of the rust that was hidden under the paint. I mostly wanted to start with a clean slate...

    66 Roof Problem

I just replaced the skin. The framework was fine but the roof looked like it was hit with a baseball bat in a few places and I didn't want to try to fill it with bondo. If I had to do it again I would go to the bottom of the rear pillar where the original seam is from the factory instead of...

    66 Roof Problem

I agree you will need a donor. If at all possible find one that came out of the same factory as yours. I replaced the roof on my 65 and the panels did not line up at all. the donor roof was about a 1/4 inch bigger so i had to be creative to get it to work.

    66 Quarter and Wheelhouse

the skin has priority over the interior panels. My panels and wheel well needed a little massaging to get them to fit as well.

I rolled my wheel wells. Wouldn't that help?

    9 in housing

so he said that it is 54 1/4 flange to flange. came out of a late 60s cougar. My 8 in out of my 65 is 53 1/4 if I am measuring the same as he did? Is an extra inch that big of a deal. You are talking a half inch longer on either side.

question for those who have replaced/re-skinned 1/4 panels(with pics)

I couldn't give you an exact time since it was my first time and I also had to replace my trunk floor and drop off on that side as well as my outer wheel well. Once i got all of the inside work done though it went pretty fast.

question for those who have replaced/re-skinned 1/4 panels(with pics)

I did the whole skin on my 65 coupe. It came in on top about 1 in so. I couldn't tell you which would be the better 1/4 panel replacement with the one that goes 1 in beyond the body line on top or the one that goes up the rear pillar. I think though that the one I used would be easier since...
