    what is wrong with auto?

Pshhhh, nothing wrong with auto. I know lots of drivers with a 5 or 6 speed that can't come anywhere near cutting consistent 1.7 and 1.8 second 60 foots. Now, a stock GT with an automatic isn't too much fun. But I think can think of many more things that are "gayer". Doesn't matter if it's on...

Those who are lowered with LT's

As far as clearance goes, I've got C springs, an automatic, and Mac LT's and if you're not careful going over speedbumps or poorly graded curbs it's not uncommon to hear a light clunk or scrape. I've had them in for a little over 2 years and don't have any dents or scraped on the actual headers...

Hurricane for sure. Tony hooked me up with my livewire and tune a few years back when I lived in Jax.

    Upgrade for the GT

They power sliders/adjusters weigh 20lbs. You can knock out about 60-70lbs with a good set of racing seats. And if you're racing you really don't need the passenger seat....or the rear seats....or the spare + jack.....or a full tank of fuel....etc. It's not hard to knock a few hundred pounds off...

Love my Stang, but don't know how you guys who drive them daily do it

Just drove 1000 miles last weekend, at 103k total miles. Stock seats held out just fine.

    Wheel Poll

5 spoke garbage? Blasphemy! Stick with the lightweight stockers and pick up some go-fast pieces.

    Steering rack question

I have this problem and it's coming from the swaybar bushings on my passenger side. Replacement parts are in hand, will post up once it's complete as to whether or not it fixed the problem (also installing offset polyurethane steering rack bushings and fresh front spring iso's).

What control arms are you running?

Granatellis - cheap, effective, and good re-greasable bushings. 30k miles on them, no probs, and I cut a 1.8 60ft with an automatic, stock stall, DR's, and 3.73's. If you're throwing a lot of power at the rear, I'd go with something beefier, though.

Kicking a dead horse > Removing quad shocks

Nothing noticeable. It's not going to improve ride quality if you have stock suspension. If you have aftermarket lower control arms, then you probably won't notice anything at all when you take them off.

Kicking a dead horse > Removing quad shocks

I've removed mine, and cut a quick time for an automatic N/A. But, there's no telling what the removal has done. I mainly did it to get rid of a few pounds.

Pics of new wheels and brakes

Wow, that looks great. If my stockers weren't so light, I'd love to get rid of them and pick up a set of those.

    Going Lightweight with my 97

They say you'll slice a tenth off of your 1/4 et for every 100lbs you drop. If you want to keep your passenger seat you can pick up a set of racing seats for the driver and passenger side and save about another 50 to 60 lbs.

    Going Lightweight with my 97

Remove rear seats, remove passenger seat, remove front swaybar, remove spare + jack, remove stock driveshaft and install aluminum driveshaft, replace current pulleys with a set of Steeda Underdrive pulleys, remove rear wing, remove dogbone from above rear differential. This is good for about...

This issue came out a few months back. Not sure where the topic here went, but my copy is serving reading duty in my bathroom.

    Dishonest seller beware

That sucks man. Anytime I see "only 500 miles" on a car that looks like the sellers, what that really means is 2000 1/4 mile passes and a lot of time sitting idle.

Need Ideas 4 for a Tribute to my Grandma

What he said. Maybe I'm an ass, but any time I see the RIP or "In Memory Of..." vinyl stickers covering up the whole back window I think it looks pretty trashy. But then again, you know what they say about opinions. Do you have anything that she gave you that means a lot? Maybe a photo in the...

    Seafoam is teh *****!

Never - they say it can foul your plugs, but I beg to differ. I've only done it twice, and always before an oil change. Put it in the gas tank, crank case, and then let it pull through the vacuum lines into the intake.

Headers..how much difference does brand make?

If you have an automatic transmissions, brand makes a huge difference. Otherwise, flip a coin.
