    What about making a plate with abs plastic that fits inside the ashtray under the door (out of sight when closed)? A 2 1/16th would probably fit in there ok. 1990 coupe, who made that pod? Do you have any other shots of it? Mustangman0222 if you want to sell the radio and eq PM me.

    Glad to hear you got it worked out. :nice: As far as the sway bar issue and raising the car you really only have 3 choices. Remove the sway bar, only jack the car up to the point before it hits the alternator, or disconnect the bar if you need the car up higher. Get a shorter belt...

    Thanks again for the compliments and opinions. Majority opinion (includes the wife) seems to be to leave it alone. I think I may do that, and just finish off the engine bay the way I want it to be and do something with the stereo system.

    It would work but you would have to unplug or power down your sat radio everytime you werent using the car long term, sat radios will create a small draw on the electrical system, about the same as a cell phone plugged in. This is assuming you are talking about using the 12v constant power wire...

    Thanks for the suggestions and compliments. I really like the look of the 17" pony R, I may end up doing that or possibly the FR500s, how much work is involved in modding the rear to accept a tire that large and an 18x9 deep dish wheel?

    Hi all, wondering if I could get some opinions on whether or not I should bother swapping wheels on my car. Currently I am running chrome ponys but am thinking about doing a five lug conversion and running FR500's or maybe Bullit or Mach 1 style. Thanks

    Try lowering the car down off of the jackstands. If the tires are on the car just put it all the way down, if not lower it to right around where it would normally sit. The sway bar could be putting enough pressure on the alternator to make the fins touch the bracket. Worth a shot, will only...

    Any chance you have the car on jackstands? If the front suspension is unloaded the swaybar may contact the alternator. Bigger pics would help alot.

    Cervinistang, it is a Pioneer FH-P800BT. There is no dash kit. I actually used the parts from 3 different Ford kits to come up with something that would work. My goal was to do no cutting or trimming of the console around the radio at all just in case I ever want to put the stock radio back...
