    maybe problem with hydralic lifter

A hydraulic lifter that is very hard to compress is not necessarily a bad thing. When they're pumped up in a running engine, they should be damn near solid. I'd be more concerned about the ones you can nearly fully compress with your fingers. When removed from the car, they should feel a little...

Need pictures of stock 99-04 4.6L 2v engine

Thanks, but I don't know yet that it's right! I need someone to verify that my diagram matches their vacuum routing on their car. I still have my EGR disconnected. Last I tried to reconnect it, I had horrible problems with the engine running. So I had to plug up those vacuum lines because I...

I can't really see the vacuum lines very well in your picture, but thanks anyway :nice:

Need pictures of stock 99-04 4.6L 2v engine

Thanks. That picture helps a bit. Can someone confirm this diagram I made is correct? The heavy black lines are rubber hoses. The red/green lines are the smaller plastic vacuum lines.

Need pictures of stock 99-04 4.6L 2v engine

In particular, looking for pictures of the vacuum line routing and the EGR valve/electronics setup. Close-ups would be great! I want to make sure I've got the vacuum lines all run correctly. I tried searching my factory service manual CD for a vacuum line diagram, but couldn't find one. :shrug...

Can someone school me on what a new diff will provide me (benefits)?

The differential just controls how the power from your engine is distributed to each of your rear axles. Different types of differentials have different behaviors. Open differential (what the V6 Mustangs generally have) just transfers power to both wheels equally under normal operation, but...

    Bolt-Ons...Do I remove them for a Superchager

Good call. Didn't even think about that. See what us N/A guys know about superchargers? :D You could probably still run the smaller accessory pullies on the other devices, I guess, but you'd need to go back to the stock crank pulley/balancer.

    Bolt-Ons...Do I remove them for a Superchager

You should still be able to use your existing throttle body and I believe you're okay with the UDPs, too. You will probably have to remove the CAI. Your inlet plumbing is going to get changed around a little bit. If you have a timing adjuster, you'll probably want to take that off (you don't...

    Instrument Cluster - Something resetting?

Low voltage to the PCM and/or instrument gauge cluster. Have your charging system and battery checked and replaced if necessary.

    Mustang Parts--Where to Buy From?

Summit Racing and RPM Outlet have been awesome for me. Summit gets parts shipped out FAST. I ordered a couple of parts on Monday and they were at my door Wednesday afternoon. That was ground shipping.. OH to FL

    new engine combo

I don't know why they included BOTH sets of heads and BOTH sets of cams on that quote, but that's why it totals $10300+. Take out the NEW head castings (leave the USED ones on the quote) and remove the AFM camshafts also (leaving the Crowers on there), and it comes out to $7452.74. FWIW -...

    motor gurus please help!!

I posted the same reply on your thread on Corral, as well. Oil pressure will look normal even with a spun rod bearing. The cause of a spun bearing is usually oil starvation, which can be temporary. Jasonh_86 posted a good video/sound clip of what it sounds like on a thread here once. Spun rod...

    What color is my car?

 Are you one of those people with a Perf. Red GT offended by someone saying it looks orange? :p

    Help w/ clicking sound

Could be your tensioner pulley. Let your engine idle and watch for it moving when you hear the clicking noise. The bearing in it might be wearing out. Easy replacement.

    Eibach Pro-kit question

Even with new springs, the front should drop more than 1/8" before they settle. You might check to be sure that the end coil is seated properly in the A-arm. If it's not, it will make the front end of the car sit up higher than it should. Also if you put the spring in upside-down, that would...

Comp XE262AHs installed: Sounds like a Powerstroke at idle?

You're right in that duration does play a part in valve overlap, but a mild cam like the 262 isn't going to have as much overlap as a VT Stage 2 cam or the Comp 270 cam. I have the 270 cams and my valvetrain isn't as noisy as yours. It's not the extra overlap making the valvetrain noisy. The...

how do you add gear fluid????

It's on the driveshaft side of the differential, if I remember correctly. I haven't used it in a long time since I bought myself a rear end girdle with drain/fill plugs on it. You'll need some hose or an oil fill adapter with a hose on it at the very least, assuming you can maneuver the bottle...

Comp XE262AHs installed: Sounds like a Powerstroke at idle?

XE262AH's don't have that much overlap. Not compared to say.. VT stage 2 N/A cams. The VT's have a 108 LSA. Lower LSA means more valve opening overlap. Your Comp 262s have a 113 LSA. I believe the stock cams are 114 LSA, so it's slightly more overlap with the Comp Cams. From what you've...

    Show me your ET

Mid to low 13s are fairly easily achievable with a few mods, a good amount of seat time at the track, and a decent track at low altitude with generally good cool weather. Some tracks aren't well maintained or prepared, others only rarely have favorable weather.
