    Well I didnt notice how the springs were in. The car was a 4cyl converted to an 8. I put the 8 cyl springs in. What do you mean incorrect preload on the suspension?

    Erratic Idle Surge After Warm Up

    Update. I had the car dyno tuned and no more surge. The tuner told me the base tune was really rich, I had a leaking header, and my dist was off. He tuned the car and it idles perfect now. I've been driving myself crazy and it was in the tune the whole time! Thanks for the help.

    Update guys. The tuner took the pan off. He said there was alot of metal in the pan, but because it was so deep it looks like it caught most of it. The filter also caught it.
