another thought is if you have some of your rocker arms tightened to much.it could cause the same effect.causing the valve to hang open a little.

i went ahead and bought the shortblock for $100.00.

that is a good point.my car has a paxton on it,its only 6psi so it may not make to much difference. my thoughts are to get this shortblock so i can get the car running,then build the 90 shortblock and maybe even put a stroker kit in it for later.who knows. thanks for the advice!

a friend of mine has a 5.0 shortblock out of a 94 cobra.first question is: 1: is there anything special about the cobra shortblock compared to a gt shortblock? 2: what would it take to use that shortblock in my 90 coupe,,is there anything i have to change on the block to make it work...

it is kinda a pain in the butt.the best way i have found is to roll up the upholstery and then you can see where the headrest latches and release it from inside the seatback.

i guess you just have to know how to drive em......hahahahaha

unless we get a foot or more of snow i drive my stangs year round.been doin it for 12+years.we will see how my coupe does with the blower.it may have to sit when it snows.plus i have to drive about 3 miles to work so that makes it easier.

surprisingly the interior is in very good shape.my buddy put black carpet in it but the seats,etc is very nice.i will post pics when i get back home maybe next weekend.

why would you want it that low anyways?it sounds like the reostat that is connected to the knob may be going bad.i would set the shift point around5-6k and run it unless you really need it below 3500.

you should be able to remove the 2 front bolts.you won't be able to put a socket on them but you should be able to use a wrench to remove/install them.they will sit just under the floor pan.

be careful with putting a bigger cam in an 86.they run flat top pistons and you will run into piston to valve clearance problems if you aren't careful..i would say a 155 or 190 walbro pump would work great.
