There is no exhaust leak and there was no tapping before. I aksed her if any of the gauges showed anything wrong or if any of the idiot lights came on and she said no. She is good about letting me know if the car makes any noises or gauges dont read right.

It goes in the transmission on the end of the speed sensor and most all of the resto catalogs have them, anytime you change the rear end gear ratio if you dont change it your speedometer will be incorrect.

You just need to change the speedometer gear so it has the right number of teeth for the rear end gears you are running they run about 20 bucks.

I run 4.10's with 245/50/16 tires at 2400-2500 rpms at about 65-70 mph in my 89 vert.

These are the years that match up to the dash harnesses.

Check your horn fuse and your horn relay, do you know if the horn worked before the swap?

I have a notch with 3.73's and a vert with 4.10's both are AODs.

According to stykthyn those are the ECU harnesses that match up with the same dash harness.

D00D that sucks I had to sell my 87 and regretted it the minute the guy got down the road and was shifting gears and I could hear the exhaust for the last time.

The reason I am asking is I had my 89 Notch run on a dyno trailer last Sat and this is what is did but the numbers just do not seem right to me and it was the first time I ever had a car on a dyno. Also what is the best way to shift an AOD on a dyno. Thanks

Best thing to do before buying parts is to take the EGR valve off and give it a really good cleaning and reinstall it. Unplug the battery to reset the codes.
