i have a 98, it has an extended crank before starting and when it does start it will barely start and sputter abit, but some times it fires right up. any ideas? oh the fuel pump is only 1yr old.
thanks for the info, i have no noise it was smelling like gear lube on long trips so i just figured i would change it out, knowing it has never been changed,is it necessary to add any kind of additive to it?
Update
Ok turns out it is the premium stereo so to bypass the amp there are two connectors in the dash on the right side you unplug and they fit the wiring harness.
Thanks much, upon further examination i found that the rack is leaking from one of the boots too, could i just get away with changing the rack, and cleaning the lines and pump real good?
I just bought my wife a 99 taurus and the power steering reservoir was empty so i added fluid to it to find out that it pukes it out of the cap and i mean alot. its really bubbly and creamy,do i need a new pump?
im putting a new head unit in 98'v6 mustang dont think its a premium stereo, and this scosche connector i got [FD021] fits the power wires but is no where close to fitting the speaker connections. Are there two different ones i need to get or could it be packaged wrong?
thanks didnt know about the screws at the tank, that should help,I know I probably riped the seal when I done the pump, which was a pain in the ass with out dropping the tank all the way down.
I need to replace the grommet on the filler neck, but when i put the fuel pump in i was unable to get the neck out. Is there a secret or tip to make it easier? thanks.
Oh its a 98 3.8l.
