    '69 Resto-mod. New To Forum

what is your intended use for the stang? street, strip, autocross? There are lots of different options out there for all sorts of budgets. If you're going the restomod route, that opens some options. For something more budget-minded and OEM style (but improved), there is the opentracker...

Opinions On The Ebay Trak-locs For The 8"

Mine is an 8" and has held up fine. As long as I don't run slicks, I should be fine. Been running it for a couple of years now with no issues. Some folks seem to have problems with the 8" and preach how weak it is. Some of this may be true...some may be internet forum myth that continues to...

Opinions On The Ebay Trak-locs For The 8"

I bought a complete third member from TJ1141 on ebay. It was a 3.89 trutrac for something like 800 or 900 dollars (paid a little extra for the tru trac). He works out of PA and is very responsive and an overall great guy to deal with. He will also take your third member for a core...

    The Million Dollar Question

A couple of things then... 1. You're 18. A 500hp stroker will be plenty fun. Learn to frive that much horsepower before adding turbos. 2. Twin turbos on a stroked 351w will create a ton of power...and then you will start breaking things on the rest of the car that was not designed to handle that...

    The Million Dollar Question

My .02...Save your money and do heads, cam, intake manifold, headers while its apart. Maybe stroke it if you uhave the cash and get used to driving a 450hp car. Then when you have funds and a better idea of where you want to go next, then spray, boost, or stroke as necessary. Just buy heads...

    The Million Dollar Question

Below is the details for my build. I have a roller block, but the same principles apply. Dyno sheet attached, but put out about 435/430 at the flywheel. I kept the stock crank and rods, replacing the pistons. A couple of options if you wanted more power than this... 1) New rotating assembly to...

    Re-paint Options

you can look into a vinyl wrap until you can scratch enough dough for a real paint job. google is your friend on this and they are a viable alternative for a situation like this. My .02.

    Expired 351w moroso oil pan

For sale is a Moroso Oil Pan (rear sump) with oil pump and pick up for a 351w. Pan is in great condition, just needed to swap out for a front sump for my 70 stang. Oil pan has been painted black.

Headers For 351w Install In A 68 Fastback

I just installed some longtubes on my 351w with a t5 and cable clutch. After some failed attempts, I ended up with a set of FPA longtubes. They are pricey, but the fit was dead on perfect. not sure how a hydraulic set up would work with these...

Opinions wanted on a 351w build...

the cam isn't going to run much more than an ots cam and I don't mind spending the little extra money on something that important. I was just a little caught off guard by the Dart recommendations. I have not been able to find much info on these at all and have not seen many people run them on...

Opinions wanted on a 351w build...

Just wanted to check in with an update. I have finally talked to a builder that I feel very comfortable with. After our initial discussion we seemed to agree on MOST everything. He is recommending a custom cam and will set up the valvetrain to match. The only thing that he mentioned which I...

Opinions wanted on a 351w build...

I understand the billet vs. SADI cam issue. My question is this...There is quite a price difference between a TFS 2 and the XE274HR. Is the material used better on the Comp or are you just paying for a name? or is a SADI a SADI?

Opinions wanted on a 351w build...

Thanks for the input on custom cams. I am going to make some phone calls/e-mails this week to see what the response is. I'll post up what I get back, and hopefully, a decision!

I also think the track heat has upgraded springs. I'm not sure if jay's page is outdated, but it still shows canfields on there. Either way, I plan on calling him this upcoming week. Out of curiosity, did you get a billet or sadi cam? As for the shortblock, I am at most just going to put...

Opinions wanted on a 351w build...

htwheelz67, thanks for the input on the cams. I did assume the xe274hr and tfs2 were almost the same. Pardon my ignorance too, but what is the advantage to that particular cam with a 108 lsa, to help out on the low end? When you talked about the TFS heads, were you talking about the Track...

Opinions wanted on a 351w build...

it seems as though the vic jr's have a 210cc intake runner and a 2.05 valve but they flow more comparably to a 185 head. if that is indeed the case, they should be crossed off my list. Of course I'll check PTV clearance :nice: Also, i am expecting a slight lope at idle. please correct me if...

Opinions wanted on a 351w build...

rbohm, thanks for the input. Understanding I should look for a larger head...but should I also try to stay at a 2.02" valve just for the sake of not losing the low end? It looks like most of the larger heads jump up to a 2.05 or 2.08 valve as well. Nasa, I have seen Air Gaps on 69-70's with...
