F/S: Complete built 4.6 2V Engine, Transmission and more

$1000 for the AIR-to-WATER intercooler, $1500 for the AIR-to-AIR kit (includes the head unit), If I sell the Tranny separately, $2500. $1000 for the fuel system. I would rather not part out the engine, I can offer it at a price that would save someone a lot of money over building it...

F/S: Complete built 4.6 2V Engine, Transmission and more

I am selling my engine, transmission, fuel system, and supercharger equipment. It is currently located in Chesapeake VA. I would like to sell it local but I can arrange shipping at buyers cost if necessary. The engine is a 4.6 fully built .020" overbore iron block using the following...

Expired Parting Out 1997 Mustang Gt

Do you still have the power steering pressure hose from boost to gear?

    Supercharger Question

The amount of pedal you would need to get into boost is dependant on what rpm you are at. At higher RPMs, the engine generates a lot more vacuum for a given throttle position. As your rpm builds, you will need more pedal.

262AH Comp CAMS- Lash adjuster pump up issue at Higher RFM

There is no clearance issue with 262ah cams if they are correctly degreed, regardless if they are PI or NPI. Yes, the cams do have four degrees of advance ground in, but the tolerance on the keys is very sloppy. You don't degree these cams by the gear key or the cam key. You degree them using...

Are these 4.6l V8s good engines?

The 1987 Corvette didn't have a LT1...it had a L98. It was rated for 230hp. The LT1 didn't go into the Corvette until 1992 if I remember correctly. Usually the 1987's with L98's were mated to a Muncie 4+3...possibly the worst transmission I have ever had the chore of using. It had decent low...

    Vortech or procharger

Forgot to say, check out superchargersonline.com Their prices are pretty incredible and they carry just about every kit, accessory, and upgrade you could ask for on every major brand. Their customer service is fantastic. They could definitely save you over the prices you have mentioned.

    Vortech or procharger

Any of those setups can get the job done. If you are still running a stock shortblock, you probably want to stay around 400-420 RWHP. At that level, you should be able to get a complete kit for a lot less than $5500. You might also look at a Paxton unit as well. The same company as Vortech...

Maximum safe overbore for 4.6L Iron block

Adding a power added is a much more effective way to go as the others have said. However, if a significant increase in displacement is what you are after, you might as well go for a Boss 5.0 modular block. It's not much more expensive in the end than punching out your stock block. It will be...

    injectors

The formula was originally intended for 85% duty cycle and gross horsepower in naturally aspired conditions (cars used to be rated on gross horsepower way back in the day). When you get to talking about parasitic losses such as accessories or superchargers it gets a lot more complicated. Using...

    injectors

Use the formula for determining what size fuel injectors you need. Remember that fuel injection has to support all the power an engine makes, including the power lost due to friction. (Fuel flow in LBM X Number of cylinders) / 0.5 If you are forced induction you would use 0.6 instead...

Which Engine Set Up To Go With

The Boss 5.0 can handle about 1600hp as is, but that's a good point that the Teksid can handle 1000+. The Boss does weigh more than a Teksid block at 165lbs. I'm not sure about the Teksid weighing 87lbs, but it might. I honestly thought the Teksid was closer to 115, but I could be mistaken...

Which Engine Set Up To Go With

For the price you would pay for a forged Teksid shortblock, you could pay just a little more and get a boss 5.0 iron block. You would have a LOT more power potential, a stronger block,, and need a lot less boost to get to your goal....FWIW

    Bullitt intake upgrade?

If you are staying naturally aspirated, you only have so much torque to work with. Outside of increasing displacement or a significant bump in compression ratio, you have to use RPM to make more power. The upper torque limit on a 11.0:1 CR mill that I have seen is about 340ft-lbs rwtq (at...

    Bullitt intake upgrade?

With a set of good flowing heads and cams that can make the most of the RPM potential the Trick Flow intake can offer, its a fantastic intake for the price. The stock intake tops out at about 200 CFM per runner (the bullit doesn't really offer a lot more than that, 210ish I believe) , most...

    PI Head Swap Question

Keep in mind that if you ported your NPI heads and added a PI intake, you could run a much more aggressive cam profile and make more power than ported PI heads....both are about even on flow in ported setups. Even taking into account the compression bump and performance cams in PI profiles, the...

Problems w/ new build, need suggestions

First off let me just say, it seems odd that with this build that you didn't crack 600rwhp. I can only conclude that you are maxing out the blower before you are hitting the power band of your intake, or the intake is simply choking the rest of the system. I don't remember the plenum size of...

How much does a 60,000 mile tune up cost for a 2004 Mach 1?

If they said they couldn't check the codes because the light wasn't on, then they were blowing smoke. Any code reader can check code history. The computer archives all codes until they are erased. If they did that to me, that store would have received a complaint on that individual at the...
