Progress Thread The "grátis" 1966 Coupe - final sheet metal repairs

I'm going with the AJE front and rear kit, yes. You still need the tops of the shock towers, but a good portion of them can go. I was originally looking into the Mustang II-style coilovers, but all those kits are way more money than I have to spend.

Progress Thread The "grátis" 1966 Coupe - final sheet metal repairs

Finally did something. I'll be installing a 4-link rear suspension on this and needed to remove the shock mount to install the rear cradle. Next up will be prepping the front side for the k-member. I also plan to redo some of my earlier welds that weren't so great. Once I get the suspension...

Someone removed the old one by just ripping it out of the dash. There’s a few pictures of it earlier in the thread.

Progress Thread The "grátis" 1966 Coupe - final sheet metal repairs

Much apologies, y'all. It's been a little while. I'm in the final few weeks of what is hopefully my last trip to the sandbox. I definitely have some plans to get working on this car once I get back! Biggest priority will be to finish the underside of the car and get the suspension installed so...

Progress Thread French dude with a '79 Fox joins the forum - have less than 2 decades to get running!!

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the rear window wiper was only a feature on cars sold in Canada or otherwise exported.

    2000 GT: Interior color change?

I felt the same way about the badges when I had my '02 GT. I ended up removing the trunk emblem and leaving it empty and put 1966 Mustang GT badges on the fenders.

1994 v6 gas leak after fuel pump replacement

It sounds like you didn't quite install the pressure line on the pump hanger assembly. A simple crack in the tank or an issue with the filler grommet wouldn't cause fuel to spray anywhere since the tank itself is not pressurized. Gasoline tends to evaporate quickly, so I wouldn't attach any...

    Are these heads junk?

No pitting in the sealing area. Just over the cylinders. I only really held onto them with the intent of freshening them up and hopefully selling them to someone looking for a stock-type rebuild. They're factory 1967 casting 289 heads with a matching intake.

    Are these heads junk?

I got these heads for free on an engine a friend gave me. When I pulled it apart, it was evident water had been in a few cylinders for a while. I didn’t want to throw away the heads, so I had a local machine shop freshen them up. I didn’t notice this until they were all cleaned up. There’s some...

    That's a vacuum reservoir.

Looking for Part Info [then] transitioning to an F100 build from an 89 Roller

I would say that's probably a 351 intake rather than a 302 owing to the 351 firing order cast into it. Looks a little wide as well, but it's kind of tough to just eyeball it.

    99/01 Cobra cluster in GT

Have you tested the cluster to see where the mileage currently sits? If lower, you could probably just go with option 2 and set up a bench test scenario that allows you to advance the mileage until it reaches that of your GT.

    2000 GT: Interior color change?

I really want to do this upgrade on my '95, but I'll have to go the route of modifying the GM brackets. The Baer retrofit brackets are impossible to find now.

    2000 GT: Interior color change?

You said this car was in a neighbor's driveway? Any comments from him on how it looks now?

I just noticed, but the Bullitt/Mach 1 springs have almost an identical rate to the Motorsport C springs.

That's the first time I've heard such a negative opinion of the H&R SS springs. I may have to consider something else for my '95 in the future.

My vote would be for the ones on the left. I like the tri-bar, but the carbon fiber background just looks too busy to me.
