    Maybe something didn' lineup properly, pull it apart again and checkit out. If the clips are worn it won't hold the odometer motor tight enough to stay engaged..

    Sounds pretty normal to me, I had an 04mach that made the same type sound but was more noticeable because of the shaker hood, esp. in passing gear .

    I'am 57 with a bad back also, but I gotta go with "flstang65" on this one because the seats in my 98gt are more comfy than my 06 gt and 04 mach1, and the suspension in my 98 has eibach sportlines. Seems there is more foam and a softer grade in the 98.

    Did the gearset fix your odometer? Hey after reading your sig I noticed you have a mag catted xpipe and was wondering how the sound is compared to the stock hpipe. I have a flowmaster catback and wanting a catted xpipe but don't know if I'll like the sound with the flows?

    Yea, it is annoying and if not expecting it can startle you. think I will look at the inner tierod also because my bushings only have small outer cracks but aren't totally dryrotted, endlinks look ok also. I think the lowering makes it more noticeable. keep forgetting to get new sigpic.

    Yes it is in the back of the cluster, and I did mine right after buying car. You can get the gearset (2gears worm&spline) from "latemodelresto" with instructions. It's basically a straigtforward fix but just be careful and aware of the gauge needles and try to do your work in a clean area. Word...

    Yea my 98 gt does it too, I am thinking the swaybar bushings are binding possibly but havent gotten around to fixing. My 06 gt did it alittle also with only 20,000 miles on it so something is weird backing out in reverse while cutting wheels !! I notice if I start out easy and turn wheel easy...

    Not disagreeing, but when I asked the shop mgr. at battlefield ford he said that the romeo PI heads from factory on an oem gt had the oilfill on passenger side, and the windsors had them on the drivers side, but I am new to sn95s and was only repeating what I was told when I inquired about it.

    Look at the front runner of the intake, and if it leads to the drivers side it's PI, also look under your alternator at the bottom of the intake and if you see alot of open space it's not a PI, because the PI intake will almost fill up thee space underneath because it's so much deeper than NPi...

    I would start at the intake manifold to see if it's PI first because that's easily verifiable by the runners (closest to the front is drivers side)
