    Flaming Mustang

Will do... But the car is stored at this moment (damn winter) so this'll have to wait till March or April. Should I hook up the vacuum gauge to a particular line? I think I should tell you I'm running a PCV on the intake and the driver's side valve cover and there is a cap on the passenger's...

    Flaming Mustang

Well we put piston 1 at TDC and my mechanic turned the distributor so that the marks will align with the rotor and that should be base timing or so he said... But the weird thing is that there is still very little range to turn the distributor to the left (advance timing) that's why he said that...

    Flaming Mustang

No chips.... Just a stock ECU... I'll probably chip it when I take it out this spring along with the mandatory dyno run and tune. The car has never been tuned since the motor was built and I'm having problems getting all the infos from the guy who built it cause I'm not doing business with him...

    Flaming Mustang

When I blip the throttle hard from idle there are flames shooting out of the tailpipes... Is this normal or a symptom of something I should look into? Is this caused by unburned gas accumulating in the headers? There's always a very hard smell of raw gasoline at idle... This is rather...

    Carbon deposits

Will do that when spring comes... Right now it's going in the garage for winter. Will have a supercharger to install during that time. Should I get a dyno tune before and after installing it? I guess it would be a waste of time and money to do it now since it will be a different animal with...

    Carbon deposits

Just noticed that carbon deposits are being spewed on the ground at the back from the exhaust... Is this normal? Is the car running to rich @ idle? I have a 331 stroker with quite a lot of mods but it never got a dyno tune. Smells gas pretty bad at stoplights also...

    vibration in shifter

Try checking your tranny's oil to see if there is presence of metal particules in it but I doubt it will be the case. So far, I'm leaning towards a clutch or flywheel problem. Did you take it back to whoever changed your clutch and TOB to see if he has any idea as to what's going on in there?

    vibration in shifter

It's the grinding that puzzles me. Vibrations could come from tons of place (urethane engine or tranny mounts + cold weather) but grinding has to come from a part that's moving even when your clutch is dissengaged... Flywheel?

    vibration in shifter

Is it doing this standing still or while you're moving? If the clutch pedal is pushed in I don't see how this could be a gear if you have the tranny in neutral AND the clutch dissengaged? Could be a worn driveshaft U-Joint if it's doing this while moving.

    TOB maybe?

    Whats everyone's winter projects?

With the amount of snow we're getting here this thing is going in the barn for at least 6 months...:( Global Warming? Not here buddy!! Will try to find a decent 4 lugs brake upgrade for the front since I can't do much in the back because of the 4 lugs Strange 31 splines Tuff axles and C-Clip...

what would keep my car from switching out of closed loop?

On another subject, I can see from your pics you have the SSC-4 wheels on your car... I'm planning on buying the 17X10 rears and 17X9 fronts. Do you like thse wheels? Where did you get them? I saw them on Cruizingconcepts Website and the pricing is pretty good...

Hey there! New guy with questions... if anyone has the time.

I wouln't rule out fuel pressure... I decreased my fuel pressure by 4 Lbs (from 44 to 40) last week and it started doing exactly what your car is doing. Are you getting the popping sound from the intake when it skips? I upped the pressure to where it was before and part throttle problems...

    Muffler Options

I have BBK long tubes and BBK H-pipe also. Just installed a set off Pypes violators catbacks. I LOVE the sound but this is just to tell you not to go for these pipes because they are quite loud for a daily driver...

    Driveline vibration

Come to think of it, my mechanic dropped the gas pressure from around 45 lbs to 40 lbs and I think this popping started around that time... He thought it was running rich but I guess it wasn't... I'll up the fuel pressure to what it was before and see if this cures my problem.

    Driveline vibration

Weird but I have a feeling that this vibration is coming from the engine. Could a badly timed engine be causing this vibration? Also, when I'm cruising or only feathering the throttle, I sometimes get a popping sound from the intake. When I floor i,t it seems to go fine with plenty of power...

    Driveline vibration

TKO 600... Just replaced my Detroit locker with a Ford Mustang 8.8" 31 Spline Traction Lok Differential brand new from Blue Oval. I had a LOT of backlash (and I mean a LOT) and since I didn't like the Detroit's behavior I choose to install and different king of diff... Backlash is gone but...

    Driveline vibration

I have a quite noticable vibration in the driveline under acceleration and compression and this is not present if I go up to speed and coast on neutral... I'm thinking driveshaft U-joint (I have a Ford Racing aluminium DS) but should I look elsewhere also?
