    I changed the radiator on an 89 mustang and drained all the fluids including out of the water pump. I am refilling it now and the water doesn't seem to circulate. I was told by a buddy that it has "air pockets" and that the water pump would need to be primed first. If this is true, how do I...

    I guess I'll try removing the accessory belt and turning everything individually. Then run it without the belt. I think I should purge the water pump however....

    You guys were right. I used your advise guys. Came in from the crank side and put the car on ramps instead if jacks. It fit right in there. What worries me is that next time i put the car on jacks or on a lift for some reason, the sway bar will smash right into the bottom of the alternator...

    Not yet... If it would stop raining! We've had a string of bad weather and sorry to say the starter went while it was outside the garage. SO... Thinking this whole instal would only take 5-6 hours I left it out there. Weather should be breaking in a couple days. Thanks

    :flag: What did your dad do to the alternator bracket? I finished installing the radiator back in it so maybe tomorrow I will put it back on the ground and try from the crank side like earlier suggested. Thanks for all the help.

    It's on the right side. It fits between the main bracket and he supercharger bracket. The small ear of the alternator connects with the smog pump via a small twisted piece of metal called the "alternator stay". Pulleys line up the way it is now so we'll see.

    Yes, the car is up on jack stands. Is that why? Please be specific as I'm not sure why that would matter... Also, the blades of the alternator touch. How do I make the pictures bigger??? I'm new at this and when I try and make them bigger, stangnet says there too large... HELP

    Here's the pics Here are some views of where I'm at. As you can see the alternator is resting on the front of the sway bar. Also the fins on the alternator make contact with the supercharger bracket. Yes Powerdyne is in still around they sold thier patient to a different compay (O2Force).
