    Clutch Cable Measurement Question

Can anyone tell me what the measurement is between the bell housing mount and clutch fork for a stock T-5 setup? I am considering a hydraulic conversion, and the kit says it will fit in place of the the standard stock cable setup. My problem is that my bell housing and T-56 are a non-stock...

Drivetrain Best Hydraulic Clutch Kit For T-56?

Anyone installed a hydraulic clutch kit on a T-56 recently? Any recommendations? Years ago, there were no kits at all, now there's almost too many to choose from for my '92.

    5.0 theoretical top speed?

Back when my old '89 LX hatch 5.0/5 speed (with 2.73's) was still bone stock . . . I was at 130 and still climbing nicely when I saw the flashing lights in the oncoming lane. I was also very lucky, the Trooper had already locked in on some poor sucker going a few over in the opposite direction.:D

    66 mustang fastback glass-roof

I understand completely. Like I said, to each his own. What the customer wants, the customer should get, especially when paying big bucks for a custom job. Some of us just sort of like cliché. If pics/sketches are posted, then expect it. It comes with the territory. That’s why it’s...

    66 mustang fastback glass-roof

To each his own. When paying big bucks for a custom job, what ever the customer wants is what the customer should get. Personally, I'm with him/her in going with a non-center exhast layout. Now, if I had big bucks to spend on a custom job, I might go with something like this. (Sorry, but I...

    66 mustang fastback glass-roof

I like this rear the best, but would want round exhaust tips. The rectangles just look too GMish for my liking.

What Could I Get for my ’68 Project?

I looked at a '67 about a year and a half ago that was very similar to yours, but completed and road worthy. It had a 289 and didn't have quite everything yours does, especially in the interior. The guy was asking $11,500. I know it took him at least a couple months to sell it after I looked...

Met the girl of my dreams today

Yup, but it’s not always obvious. I’d known my wife since she was three or four (small town), but had never really considered her a “car” person . . . until after we were already married. With our first new car, she was good with getting a manual, though she’d never owned one. Took her about...

Any regrets going with a classic?

The newer ‘Stangs look good, handle better, and are safer than the classics, or even the Fox’s. But they’re not for me. The newest I’ve owned is my present ’92 GT convertible daily driver, which has been highly modified. I have a ’65 project that I purchased earlier this year after dragging...

    How many '65s left????

Anybody know how about many original production 1965 Mustangs are still in existence? Tried searching the web, but couldn't find a number. I'm sure there are many just sitting in a field, barn, or old garage (like the one I recently purchased) that haven't been registered in years.

    Why is it overheating?

Wasn't sure about this, so I ran some example thermal calculations (0.040 overbore on a stock block, etc.) and came up with about a 14% increase in the thermal transfer rate with the thinner cylinder wall. Sure, there are other factors, but that doesn't indicate very much margin in the stock...

    calling all ENGINEERS!

Look at companies that provide engineering contract services, like SAIC (SAIC: From Science to Solutions) or MTSI (MTSI Homepage), etc. They seem to have a broad gambit of opportunities. I have one of those general degrees, too (Engineering Physics), and ended up in aerospace. I still do...

    General/average cost to rebuild a T5?

Had a shop do an '89 T5 I had once. Needed new sliders, gears were O.K. Got it all done and a new clutch installed turnkey for just under a grand.

    Why is it overheating?

UPDATE: :D Dual electric fan unit re-installed with new controller. A week of driving in triple digit temps with the A/C going full blast . . . did not even come close to overheating. Hard to believe the stock fan could be that inefficient.

    Why is it overheating?

Yup, 98/99 forecast for the next seven days. Pavement just makes it hotter . . . My truck's outside air temp gage routinely reads 103/104 at these levels. Guess I need to get a couple of those for the 'Stangs so I can tell what's getting sucked in. Here's an update: Fan clutch checks good...

    Why is it overheating?

Daily driver ’92 GT, DSS crate 306 motor, 303 cam, AFR heads, Vortech intake, 24# injectors, oversized aluminum radiator, stock type water pump, 5 1/4 in. drive pulley, new stock fan clutch, fan shroud installed. Coolant is fresh. When I bought this car late last summer, it had a dual electric...

Old style Lx flowmaster tailpipes ?

Had Flowmaster 2.5's on my '89 LX and got 'em now on my '92 GT. Neither one hangs that low. Sure they were Flowmasters?
