Ok so I have not been on in a few weeks and here is what has been done to the car to date. I got an Art Carr AOD, GT40 heads and intake, 4.10 gears, timing gears, weld big and little drag lites, and a B&M ratchet shifter. Haven't ran it yet but I hope to be abusing it at Irwindale this thursday...

Ok before my tranny crapped out I was running 9.1@77mph at Irwindale doing the AOD shuffle. Now I got another AOD (came out of a truck) with the Valve body and govenor out of the Mustang tranny. I also did the Epoxy mod and put in a B&M Shift kit. Will my times improve?:flag:

So I went to the track on thursday(Irwindale 1/8) and was hitting 9.10@78 mph with an AOD. I was doing the AOD shuffle (yeah I know bad for the tranny) and it did fine up until today. I drove 42 miles to my mom's house and the car ran fine. I go to leave and all of a sudden it starts slipping...

My AOD in my 86 decided to lose a couple of gears today 42 miles from home. I limped it home in first and second(took the streets). When I got closer to home 1st and second started slipping real bad. Could it be the bands? I am not familiar with the AOD. Also if the AOD is to much work what is...

My 86 has E7s on it,bbk shorties, and an MSD coil. After I put the e7s on it started running rich. Any ideas on what could be the problem? My timing is at 14.:flag:

ok my 86 gt has an AOD. I got to the track weekly. I am about ready to order tires. I am debating between slicks and radials. What would be the best tire? Also does anyone have 3.73 or 4.10 in their AOD stang? If so which one works best? Thanks:flag:

My 86 GT got hit by a low life kid in the driver door. The kid ran and I really don't want to pay my insurance deductible. Besides 86 doors would 87-93 doors fit? The junkyard doesn't have many four eyed stangs but they have a crap ton of aero stangs. any info would help:flag:

I got the stock radiator in my car. Since it is hot out here and my car is constantly at the track I need something with more cores. What junkyard radiators would work? I am looking for a direct fit. Really don't want to go with fluidyne or be cool. I am trying to build a fast street/strip car...

MY 86 gt has dual contour fans. Since I am on a budget I don't have the temp controller. I just have a switch inside the car I flip on when it is warming up. I heard these fans are 2 speed(high/low). Is this true? Does anyone have a wiring diagram for these fans?:flag:

Ok so the tranny in my 86 GT is obviously an AOD. My shift pattern is 1-D-OD. When Racing I shift at 5000 rpm from 1st to drive. Then the car shifts from 2 to 3rd at 4300rpm. What would be a cheap way to change my tranny so I can choose the gears from 2nd to third at my choosing? I am trying to...
