    C4 Help

Looks like it is a worn down part of the sprag clutch

    C4 HELP NEEDED!

Alright, when I get a chance I'll get a pressure gauge on it and test it. To me the weirdest part is that 1st and 2nd worked before I fixed the valve body. It's not leaking onto the ground but maybe the valve body isn't sealed on properly? I really hope it's not the forward drum.

    C4 HELP NEEDED!

Sorry for the long and confusing post, I'm trying to make the most sense out of this that I can. I have been having problems with my c4 transmission for while now. I put a hot new 347 in my '66 and put a B&M shift kit in to freshen up the tranny. Obviously something wasn't right because it blew...

    C4 leak

Thanks Tim, It's a brand new 2500 stall converter i bought to go with my new 347. It hadn't been in there long enough to show wear. How difficult of a job might it be? I don't know a damn about the internals of a transmission but I'm not afraid of hard work either. Thanks, Garrett

    C4 leak

Okay, so the C4 transmission from my '66 has been leaking lately out of the gap in the inspection cover. It was leaking from inside the bellhousing so my first guess was that the front pump seal blew out. I pulled the engine out this weekend to replace the front pump seal but it looked great...

    Looking for a 9 inch

Thanks. The ranchero's definitely not a '69 so it must have been swapped at some point. It was the right width and all but its no upgrade over what I have now.

    Looking for a 9 inch

Hey, thanks. I'm pretty sure its an 8 inch. I can use a 9/16 socket on the bottom 2 nuts and its more oval shaped than it is round. I don;t know the exact year of the car but i found the axle tag. Its a WDW-J 8MD...

    Looking for a 9 inch

I've been looking for a 9 inch rear to swap into my 66 lately and I know the 57-59 rancheros are supposed to fit in well but how about a 1960-ish ranchero? I'm thinking the donor is the second generation of the ranchero. I crawled underneath and it measured out at like 52 1/2 for just the bare...

Need to find the right damper/balancer

Alright I got it timed. I just got a different timing light with an advance. It's timed at 35 on the light and shows 0 on the balancer. Thanks for your help

Need to find the right damper/balancer

I don't think I feel any vibration from it unless it's very minor. I think Ill go ahead and put some timing tape on it and time it the best I can. By getting a heavier balancer it will keep the 28oz balance right?

Need to find the right damper/balancer

Hi all. Alright so I'm trying to time my engine but the timing marks are off a whole 2 inches from where they should be. So I guess what I think my options are would be to either get a new one or simply get a timing tape. Do you think my damper slipped? I've heard of them slipping and although...

    Weird timing issues

Ok, thanks. It's a roller block but I can't imagine its an HO, and I'm running a speed demon. I will give all that a try and get back.

    Weird timing issues

And about finding top dead center, i rotated the engine at the crank 'till 1st piston was at it's highest point and I think it was approx. 18*-ish left of TDC. It's a 347 by the way, if that throws things off.

    Weird timing issues

Oh wow. There's two different firing orders? I had no idea. I've been using 15426378, it was written on my old intake manifold. I've got a brand new engine and was advised by the builder to run it rich for the break in. I can't imagine its a burnt valve but I guess I don't know. My cam is a comp...

    Weird timing issues

I don't own a vacuum gauge so I will need to get one of those. When I timed it i did plug the vacuum advance and it was pretty far off the timing marks. It is definitely an intake manifold backfire.

    Weird timing issues

Hey everybody. I posted a couple weeks ago about a fuel problem and solved it with just a higher psi pump and a regulator, now of course I have another problem. It sounds timed right by ear at idle. It idles abnormally high, 1200, and idle varies and doesn't have a real radical cam. The damper...

    Electric Fuel Pump Size

I have the pump wired up to the solenoid so that it pumps when the key is in on and it is still hot while the car is running. The pump is hot while the car is running, I'm using 16 gauge wire (it doesn't feel to be overheating or anything) I don't know the fuel press. while it is running but I...
