    I had a friend take a look and we determined that the noise was coming from the rear pas side of the motor. His $.02 were either a wrist pin (just as bad as a spun bearing in the long run) or a cracked fly wheel. Has anyone ever heard of a fly wheel cracking on a 4.6?

    If I'm going to build up my car I want to do it right. The other option is get a new 5.0, or hopefully if my car lasts picking up a used 5.0. My only concern with the build up is that, while the car is in very good shape, it still has the dings and dents you'd expect on a ten year old car...

    Coil pack wouldn't set off the CEL? So I guess I have to pull everyone out and check huh? There is a coolant leak but it's by the thermostat housing and was dripping down the front of the engine. I guess I should have the intake pulled anyway... What about a fuel filter?

    It's a 2001 GT, it has exhaust back from the headers, and CAI, Accufab TB & plenum. No CEL codes and it has just recently started doing this. Plugs only have about 10k on them. The last repair I did was to replace the alternator (the battery light was flickering on and off).
