    Why no 6 speed love?

    I don't care whether it's a 5 or 6 speed as long as it can handle 500+ rwhp/rwtq.

    Roots screw type supercharger

Never believe what a manufacturer says about THEIR product. If what the said was true then we could all have an extra 100 rwhp with a handful of cheap bolt-on mods.

    T-56 or TKO?????

If someone has a motor that needs that has an 800+ torque rating then they should be deciding which automatic transmission to buy. In 99% of cars, a T-56 is plenty strong.

    T-56 or TKO?????

IMO, the TKO's stength isn't "much" better. Maybe marginally better. There are other benefits to the T-56 like refinement (i.e. smoother shifting), better gearing for road course racing, it is much quieter than a T-5, with an 0.50 OD ratio you can run steep gears and keep the highway rpm's...

    T-56 or TKO?????

D&D will install custom gears for additional cost.

    T-56 or TKO?????

I don't know the ratings of the TKO's but D&D said the T-56 in my car should easily handle 600+ ft-lbs of torque. They are conservatively rated.

    T-56 or TKO?????

It comes down to personal preference and what importence you put on transmission refinement. The TKO works fine if you want to keep the cost down and still have a stong tranny. The T-56 shifts much better, is quieter, the extra gear is good for road course racing and when ordered with a 0.50...

    KB Done!!

If I were at the beginning stages of building my '89 LX I would probably have gone with a '99+ convertible and threw an intercooled KB kit on it. It takes a lot of work (and money) to get 450 rwhp from a 5.0L. The KB on a '99+ GT does it on a stock engine. Plus, forge the bottem end and raise...

    Eaton supercharger on 4.6L

Look into this kit: http://www.kennebell.net/superchargers/ford/gt96-03_2v/gt96-03_2.htm It has been making great hp/torque numbers on the GT's. The twin screw blower is much more efficient than a Root's type that you referenced.

    6spd vs 5spd

I've not had any issues other than they need to warm up on cold days before the shifting is completely smooth. It's a strong tranny that has good manners. It's just pricely and installation isn't a snap. It meets my needs but the older I get the more attractive an auto tranny looks.

    6spd vs 5spd

Having used both for quite some time here is my take on the subject. The T-56 has three major advantages. The first is a usable 5th gear that is good for road course racing. The second is strength. The third and most important, IMO, is the overall refinement of the T-56. It shifts smoothly...

Updated KB Dyno #s: Help Needed

I agree with Tom about checking the boost level through the pull. IMO, the AFR is still a little on the low side for a blown engine. Also, if you extrapolate out to 6,000 rpm you would be right at 410 rwhp. This is based on your dyno pulls ending at 5,400 and 5,700 rpm.

    Tuned KB - New #'s!!!

As for who tunes best, anyone doing a tune that is getting data from dyno pulls had better get more hp than someone that is sending a person a mail order chip. No two cars are equal and KB has to be conservative to accomodate the minor differences between them just like JMS or Fordchips does...

    Methanol/Water Injection vs. Air Cooler

I've never had an intercooler but have run water injection for almost three years. IMO, water injection is just as efficient as an intercooler and in some situations better (can cool intake air to below ambient temps). It is not effected by ambient air temperatures and doesn't need air flow...

Roots, Blowers, Chargers, Centrifugal? what are the differences?

There's basically three types of superchargers used on cars. They are centrifugal, Root's and twin screw. These further break down into whether they are compressors or pumps. Compressors actually compress the air inside the blower while the pumps move air into a chamber (i.e. discharge...

    Finally....KB dyno numbers

It's really the margin of safety they felt comfortable with for that particular test. Why take even the slightest risk to blow an engine and miss a great opportunity to promote their product. The 1.7L case used for the 4.6L GT kit uses an updated/improved rotor profile that is better than...

    Finally....KB dyno numbers

As was stated KB has a tendency to be conservative in their octane/boost recommendations. When doing an article for a national magazine it isn't good marketing to blow up an engine during teasting. This is probably the main reason for KB's conservative approach. As for whether a KB can be...

    Finally....KB dyno numbers

I've had a KB blower on my car for years and have had to point out the difference between twin screws and Root's over and over. I call the remarks the "twin screw myths" and there's about half a dozen of them that I don't want to take the time to mention. IMO, this is statement is right on...

    Finally....KB dyno numbers

The Saleen kit must have a very restrictive intake and/or intercooler. I think KB learned allot from the 5.0L guys grass roots R&D. That is open up everything from the filter on back and an intercooler is as useful on a twin screw as it is on a centrifugal or turbos. Many people don't...

    Finally....KB dyno numbers

I didn't take it that way. I'm not trying to start a flame war either. I just see too many threads where someone states the twin screws don't perform at the track when this is far from the truth. I also think BC could easily be in the high 11's with nothing but a little more practice.
