2007 Mustang Rough Grinding In Brake After Changing Rotors, could It Be The Sway Bars?

It's wierd, but mine was doing the same thing two years ago, sounding like a new turned finish that causes the caliper to ride up in the anchor and 'clunk' before dropping back. It went away....the rotors were not new when it happened, but I'm still hanging my hat on a surface condition. Do you...

    Friction Modifier Question

I'm getting ready to swap out the factory diff lube in my 07 GT. Has anyone had experience with Lucas synthetic 75W140 without adding friction modifier? Lucas says its not needed, but Ford recommends it in the manual. My thoughts are to add it, but I'm wondering if it could get "too slippery"...

    Diff Lube Change Question

I'm planning on swapping out the rear end lube soon on my 07 GT and was wondering if anyone has had experience using the Lucas synthetic 75w140 without the friction modifier. It appears that a lot of folks have and haven't had any cornering chatter problems from what I've read and Lucas...

    Brake Fluid

I'm a retired Ford brake engineer and have observed through the years that (depending on the ambient humidity and geography) moisture does in fact enter the system mainly through the small atmospheric vent on the underside of the master cylinder cap seal. Most all fluids are based on propylene...

Exhaust Winter Storage Of My '07 Gt

I think there are 2 schools of thought on periodic starting of a car that has been suitably prepped for a long winter sleep (necessary here in MI, if the car hasn't seen winter ravages).... Any thoughts on the downside of an occasional 15-20 minute start and idle as opposed to leaving it rest...

What's your recommendation on a 1 piece spark plug for an 05 GT

I just got a set of 8 Motorcraft OE plugs for my '07 GT from American Muscle for 69.95, free shipping, no sales tax (for MI anyway, not sure about IL). They seem to be gtreat to work with too:nice:

    $189 Fuel system clean

Seafoam seems to work great in the car, mowers, snowblowers, etc. I've never had a dirty fuel concern (so far)..... The 07 GT has had a steady diet of Shell/Mobil/BP; I highly recommend spending a few cents a gallon more to get 'less tainted' fuel. The cheapo places around here are all E10.

car does not fill up since supercharger

Current TSB is 07-21-12, superceding 06-3-13, according to my records. My 07 GT supposedly has a 'revised' tank design, but the car still likes to be filled with an upside down nozzle. I'm sure Ford has tests to determine fill characteristics, but some sure dropped the ball on this one! It's a...

    Can the TPMS be disabled?

Too bad we do not have an amendment that gives us rights against forced TPMS, but in time the govt would strike that one down along with the others.

    Engine Plug Swap on a 4.6 3-V

Anyone have opinions on the best stuff to initially loosen the 'stuck' plugs on a 4.6L 3-valve. I was considering either PBBlaster or Aerokroil. Some say regular carb cleaner, but there must be something better.

    4.6L 3V Plug Change

Thanks to gearheadboy and streethorse on the plug info; didn't realize that Motorcraft made some updates... one thing bad about running accelerated durability tests, just like no zerks on the susp. fittings, you do not see the effects of lack of lube when normal time elements are not...

    4.6L 3V Plug Change

I'm getting ready to do the dreaded plug swap on my 07 GT (41000 mi). Anyone have thoughts on the difference between the OE Motorcraft and Autolite HT1 plugs?

    Problems With Idle

Seafoam has a throttle body cleaning 'kit' with a specially designed tube that attaches to the lip of the throttle body and provides a good point to spray. Works good on a few cars that I tried it on....

    Friction Modifier

I have heard some say that the shifts are improved with a modifier, I assume being akin to the diff. modifiers for locker axles. My trans is great 'as is' w/ the factory Mercon fill - just wondering. It is certainly not broke, so I guess I won't attempt to fix it.

Trans oil in my 07 GT with a manual 5 speed

The owner's guide says to use 'Mercon', which to my understanding is Dexron III in the 5 speed manuals....anyone disagree with using Mercon V? I see that Ford has switched over to that spec in the steering systems. It should be as good or better for the trans.

    Need help with filling up.

Need help with filling up REDroush2 - the S197.com site appears to be under construction this morning. Is there any other location with the same good info? Thanks.

    Need help with filling up.

My 07 has been insanely difficult to fill from day 1, unless it is below 1/4 and I turn the nozzle upside down (on first click) until 6-7 gallons have pumped in, then rotate it back to normal position and fill it up the rest of the way w/out looking retarded for the whole stop. It will not fill...

Storing my '07 GT for the winter

Storing my 07 GT for the winter :nice: Thanks to all for the comments..... It'll get 'sta-bilized' this weekend. It has worked great in my mowers and 2-cycle stuff over the years.
