The Official "what Do You Do For A Living" Thread

A lot of ham radio guys are ex military/communications guys. If you love electronics, you'll do great. Just stay the hell out the security forces.

The Official "what Do You Do For A Living" Thread

I would've loved that. Never joined the military but I got into amateur radio just because I spent so much time as a kid listening to shortwave and wondering not just what they were saying, but how on earth was I able to receive a signal from the other side of the planet. That fascinated me...

The Official "what Do You Do For A Living" Thread

I work at a Nasa Engine test facility, Stennis Space Center, just east of New Orleans. I work in the electronic calibration laboratory, mostly these days writing calibration procedures. It can be pretty boring some days, others are too busy to even stop for lunch.

Post pics of how your foxbody currently sits

4 years later and it still looks like hell. No time/money to do the bodywork/paint. At least it's not looking any worse. I do keep it clean, wash/wax it regularly and stay on top of it mechanically.

Back Stabbed By A Mustang Guy

I'd love to have been given a TC rear... disc brakes all around.. Sucks the guy did that.

Whos Carbed And Why? Looking For Input...

No way I'd take a perfectly running EFI fox mustang and switch it to carb. However, if it was chronically problematic, I could see why some, especially if they're familiar with carbonated engines would consider it.

Car has no power after 3g install

There should always be 12V at the hot side of the solenoid, because it's supposed to be connected to the (+) side of the battery. Something's not hooked up right here, I hope you're not seeing 0V with key on because of a dead short.

Whos Carbed And Why? Looking For Input...

I'm carbed. Why? Because I got the car that way (was a 4 cyl). I can rebuild and tune carbs so I'm not intimidated by them.

Universal Sign For "not Racing You"

Last time I flipped a guy off for being a jerk he chased me for 2 miles, arm out the window, yelling and trying to wave me over. I finally did pull over and parked. He jumped out of his car and ran up to my side, yelling and waving. Then he saw my right hand on the butt of my .45 and decided...

few questions about my NEW notch.

Can't you just tighten them (while it's running) till the tap goes away? I don't know if something's changed, but that's what we used to do, go clockwise on the rocker stud nut till the tap was gone, then go 1/4 turn more.

    Over Revved in First

Another Ford Racing wire failure here, the notorious #5 plug boot caused a very similar sound. I also over-revved mine a while back and posted about it here... I also felt a power loss at the peak like you but I'm pretty sure it was just the valves floating. No damage. I think you're...
