    Twin Turbocharging the 3.8

No offense taken. It's just if I keep the V6, I won't have to put in a new clutch, engine, headers, exhaust, etc as I would with a V8. I'm not looking to make tons of hp at this point, I just would like some more hp for a little more reasonable price. The M90 kits were superchargers strapped on...

    Twin Turbocharging the 3.8

cam and ports sound good. I probably won't touch the engine for a few more years at this rate. What exactly would I have to do for "ported heads," and installing a new cam?

    Twin Turbocharging the 3.8

Interesting. The previous owner I bought this off of had installed a Steeda Cold Air Intake, a chip, dual exhaust, and several suspension goodies. Given all these basic upgrades, I thought Headers might be the next logical step and give around 50 extra hp or so.

    Twin Turbocharging the 3.8

Hey guys, I think I might skip the turbocharging, and just install some headers on the car in place of the stock exhaust manifolds. This sound like a reasonable idea to anyone?

    Twin Turbocharging the 3.8

Interesting, but I thought an intake would be necessary, regardless? e.g. my friend chipped his 335i's twin turbocharged 3.0 six cylinder engine, and he installed a much larger air intake so the thing produces around 410 hp. Btw, I'm not trying to make a dragster, just a sportier car...

    Twin Turbocharging the 3.8

Well, I'd take the engine out, strip it down. Mill the piston heads down and therefore lowering the compression ratios. I might install some new efi, but my real concern would be the intake (I'm using a Steeda cold air intake atm) and the intercoolers that'd be necessary. Any thoughts?

Great, thanks for the headsup and the response MustangLX :)

    Sup DUdes

Well, I think the fifth generation are actually laid out on a full frame chassis--the 4th gen have unibody constructed suspension in the rear, so the short answer, and it won't handle well. Plus, that looks like a stock 2003 V6, and of course I don't mean to disrespect the six cylinder, but a...

    Shocks and Struts

Hey guys, so I got new Steeda control arms installed along with an entirely new differential package in the rear. The car feels much better although I suspect in this particular instance it has more to do with the new tires (Yokohamas) than the control arms. I would like to be proven wrong, but...

Please post pics of your 99-04 V6 Mustangs!!!

Wheel 004 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! rear on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Wheel 005 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Basically, ruined rear suspension and got an entirely new Ford differential/axle shaft/brake package along with a Steeda control arm package and Steeda wheels (two busted wheels required...

Was there ever a GT P51?

That's what I was thinking. The 351 air cleaner threw me off (the '69 350 has a 351, but the air cleaner is a ram air snorkel), and the car looked pretty original either way.

Was there ever a GT P51?

Are you sure though? I am fair certain I have heard of Shelby experimenting with a GT P51, it's just I couldn't place where/when I read it. When I was there, it did look authentic...I wish I had taken more pictures.

Was there ever a GT P51?

So I was at the Goodguys San Diego show today, and I saw what at a cursory glance looks like a GT 350. But instead of the decal that says GT 350, it says "GT P51" Idk what to make of it, but I saw the SFM ( should have taken more pictures, sorry guys) and it actually looks legitimate, so I...

Well if you're worried about the engine not looking good, you might just install fuel injection and leave the turbo out of the equation for now

CA guys need to get behind AB-1740

I was actually at the Goodguys show today in San Diego, and they had this announcement on the PA every now and then. Will definitely consider this, although I don't own a hot rod at the moment.

    20s on a 94-98

I have a '99 V6, modded by a previous owner, etc. and frankly, you're best off with 18's. I don't know why kids my age are so obsessed by 20 and 22" wheels, it looks incredibly stupid and incredibly belligerent. Especially when you're running stock brakes/calipers which don't need the extra...

I found an old mustang race video. Very cool. Link inside!

I have to ask, what year was your dad's Mustang? I can't really place it, but I'm assuming it might have been modified with new wheels, brakes, suspension and so forth. Also, I really LOVE that orange/black '71-73 Mach 1 that's roaring alongside your dad's stang. It looks really nice. Of...

    73 mach 1 build thread

So what turbo are you thinking of running? A garett? Are you thinking of using a bi-turbo setup, single turbos seem kind of...dangerous in that you might be making a turn and then you get some boost going, old porsches had that problem--but then again they had the whole rear engine/transaxle...
