    Cost of P&P 96-98 cobra head/intake

If you are going to go with a turbo I would probably leave the stock cams in place for now. Turbos are pretty sensitive to cylinder pressure, IIRC, and a big set of cams with lots of overlap are not what make a good turbo motor. If anything, something like an FR500 setup or just some Mach 1 cams...

    Whats more restrictive???

Replacing the midpipe is the route you want to go. I have full-tube headers feeding an O/R X-pipe, but I left the catback stock because I didn't want the drone I had on my old car with Flows. The car makes a lot of power, but the idle is near stock and there is no drone. Plenty of loud at WOT...

watts link, any one used it??

Yez, in theery a wats lnk iz a beter design then a panhar bar. Wit a wat link, ther is absoltly know literal movement of the axel as tha suspention goes thru it's articulashun. Howevar, four most street car applikashuns teh perfourmants differens be tween the panhard and the wats link will not...

Top Gear on the new Vette (and Ford GT)

What does that mean? The guy ran out of gas on the test track. 4 mpg doing repeated WOT blasts is probably about right. He did note that Ford claimed it would get 12 with more sensible driving. They made fun of certain aspects of it, but they gave the car its due. It POUNDED the track times...

    TB or Pulleys which one????

For a 1999 GT, pulleys are a no brainer. I picked up about 15 rwhp with a pulleys/TA combo.

    long tube headers

Cobra headers will not fit a GT. Geometry is different. Also, the difference in power between ceramic and non-ceramic coated headers will be negligible.

put chrome intake tube back on...and questions

Size difference won't have too much affect. The T/B is still the restriction in the system, and unless a significant step change occurs I can't see any major frictional losses in a smooth pipe. Any pressure should be recovered so long as transitions are smooth.

I feel like an Idiot!! Help

Who told you that you have 21# injectors? Never heard of those on a Mustang applications. 19# perhaps? (19# is stock on a 96 GT). If it is 19# you just need to order the correct sample tube from Lee at C&L.

    Water Wetter Question

Why not just read the manufacturer's instructions? IIRC, it tells you to use a whole bottle and a 15/85 mix for street applications.

    96 Cobra Overheating

The cooling fix didn't always fix the problem. A better radiator like a Fluidyne might be the solution. You can find the thermostat in the silver housing at the bottom of the rubber coolant hose. Its on the drivers side a little ways in front of the oil filter. Check the cheapy thermostat first...

Car maybe totaled, what to replace it with?

If you don't need the car to do much besides get you from A to B, the Miata is a tough one to beat. You can easily fit one in your budget, and if you don't need cargo or passenger capacity it is the car that best fits the 'race out of the box' mold you mention in your criteria. Hell, for...

Steeda Pulleys installed and oil is now flying everywhere

Ford seals all crank dampeners with RTV. I would think every manufacturer has to. I agree this is the most likely culprit.

    Oil grade?

1st number = viscosity at low temp 2nd number = viscosity at high temp 5w30 is thinner at low temp, but the same at hi temp compared to 10w30 10w30 is the same at low temp, but thinner at hi temp compared to 10w40

What are the signs of a worn or burnt clutch?

Of course, in order to actually touch the clutch, you would have to already have the car torn apart sufficiently to change the clutch. No labor savings at that point. Often times the car will slip when the motor is under heavy load (going uphill in a high gear). When the RPMs are going up and...

    Clutch question - conflicting opinions

Given the ease of swapping out brakes compared to a clutch, and the cost of pads compared to a clutch.... why would anyone want to have an even rate of wear between the two. Lifetime brake pads can be had for $30 and can be changed in a half-hour. Clutches are not even close.

    HELP....BIG PROB.

Napa or Autozone can usually sell you one for ~50. The IAC is certainly dead in your case.

    HP twin turbo car pulls 720rwhp / 651 ft-lbs at T&J

I saw the kit in a box when I went to go pick up my Cobra last month. Andy had a lot of the pieces out and let me eyeball most of what was around. It was a very well put together kit and looked to be solidly engineered. Sounds like it makes power to boot.

    HELP

Your car shut off? How do you accomplish something as involved as a nitrous installation with the car running? If the car won't turn over it certainly sounds electrical in nature. Unless the engine is seized (yours isn't) the started should always at least be able to turn the motor over--...
