    04 Gt Exhaust

Hard to say, muffler selection is totally sound preference based in my opinion. Gains from a muffler swap alone are practically nothing.. maybe a few but nothing you'll feel. I've always preferred the sound of Flowmasters on that engine, but that's just me, and I can't recall hearing Flows...

Engine 1999 Gt Issues, Need Advice

+1 for fuel filter. I assume your air filter isn't clogged, etc.

Exhaust system that sounds like an old muscle car

+1 for everyone who said O/R H-Pipe and flows. I had that setup and it was loud (in a good way) throughout the entire range.

    Gears And A Kick

Has the car been in a wreck in the past? If something got knocked out of whack with the alignment of the axle or the driveshaft it could be related to that. Otherwise I would assume since you have had problems in the past it's related to that versus the transmission.

    STRANGE Speedometer Issue

Have you checked the wire that runs underneath yet (the VSS wire) ? My hunch is that the wire running underneath the car from the speedcal got half ripped out and could be shorting on something metallic every time you touch the clutch. At speeds above 50, the wind force underneath the car could...

    Old question about lifters knocking

Well from what I recall nobody ever really answered this issue with a "why".. more like a "this is normal." You can try a thinner oil and see if it flows upward more quickly at startup, but in the end, if it's just noisy lifters, it's just noisy lifters.. and short of pulling everything...

Which fuel pressure gauge do I want?

You need the 100 psi gauge. The other ones are for carb'd cars. Your fuel pressure at idle is around 32.. so.. you know.. yeah.

    I sold my Mustang...

Yep. It's gone. I'm heading overseas for a year, then somewhere else overseas for a couple years after that.. figured it'd be too much hassle moving it around and bringing it to cold climates. I'm now for the first time in like 10 years not a Mustang owner. Feels weird. Bought it new...

    Mac H-Pipe: Awesome

With flows, that's an awesome sound. Just too much of a fume smell for my taste. You really need PB Blaster, or a penetrating oil. WD-40 is more of a solvent, and won't sit there and creep in to the places you need it.

    Broke of a wheel stud.

It's easy. As said above, take off the wheel, then the 2 bolts on the back holding on the caliper, remove the 2 retaining clips holding the rotors on, and remove that, then get a hammer and knock the old stud back out. If you don't have an impact wrench, just head down to a tire shop and let...

    WTF Pypes o/r x-pipe

I've heard nothing bad about 50resto up until now, but sounds like they simply screwed up. I always sort of guessed Pypes to be a "you get what you pair for" type midpipe, considering its cost.

    Pulley Noise (I hope)

Yeah I hear that noise you're talking about.. but I can't say I can place it based on that video. Any chance if you get down there with a stethescope you can narrow down where it's coming from? It almost sounds to me like something rattling like maybe an air filter rattling against...

Autometer Boost Gauge INSTALL, Some Q's...

Ok well you just use ring terminals on those posts. For ground, you can use any screw you find mounted through metal, or splice off another ground wire. I ran mine crap down to the fuse box so I used one of the mounting screws on the box itself for ground. For power, I used the radio fuse...

    im new here a ?

As said above, there's a technical service bulletin out for that 1-2 clunk sound. The first remedy is to try changing the fluid fill level in there to whatever it recommends. Next step would be to get the parts the TSB says and replace the syncros. The exhaust leak is an easy fix. Check the...

    Need help with X-Pipe

You don't weld in a midpipe. You weld one together if you want, but it's not sensible to weld parts of the exhaust in to one like that. Anyways, there are dozens of options, from the Pypes X pipe Jegs or brenspeed sells all the way up to the Dr. Gas or Bassani. All have a distinct sound...

Thanks for taking the time to document your installation. I'm sure others will appreciate it. Let's get this added to the important tech threads sticky (assuming the pictures aren't on a tempoary host.) If how to change a damn light bulb made a sticky, surely this can be thrown in to an...

Driving in 4th gear at 3,000 RPM at Highway Speeds

Ever seen that video where the guy does a 3 minute or so long burnout in 2nd gear at the redline? He's driving a white GT, and at the end when it finally overheats, he spits on it? Yeah.. they can take far more abuse than THAT. You're fine. I've ran at 4000+ for 10+ minutes canyon carving...
