    t-5 transmission concern

When you buy a starter for your T-5 you need to ask for a starter for an automatic. All the auto stores have the part numbers mixed. Its not your bell or block plate, just ask for an automatic starter and it will work perfect.

    Terrible shaking / T-5

I had similar symptoms and it turned out to be a bad motor mount. They look fine when the the car is sitting there. Try opening the hood, start the car, put it in gear and see how much the engine moves when you give it a little gas. BE CAREFUL.

    What do I fix first?

That is sweet if you have disc brakes. Most old Mustangs had drum brakes. What year is yours? For drum brakes a rebuild could mean new wheel cylinders, brake shoes, have the drums turned, new flexible brake lines for each wheel and a hardware kit with springs and stuff. If you have a 65-66 I...

    First Step

After you pull the engine, the Shelby 1" drop is so easy. There are many posts on the topic. It makes you car handle much better and parts cost $0.00.

IIRC One will be printed side up and the other will be down.

    Clutch linkage help

Of course you have to pull the transmission to install the bearing retainer. Once out, it takes maybe 5 minutes to install. Wouldnt you know my clutch started to bind and catch right as I was stopping for some kids in a crosswalk. I coulndt press the clutch so I just turned the car off and...

I need some honest advice for T5

Surely one of the easiest things you can do. There are 4 bolts, it pops off and be careful with the shims behind it. Put the shims on and use some RTV sealer around the bearing retainer and bolt it back on. Your done.

Oil pan hitting steering middle steering arm

Buy a new oil pickup, they are like $15. I have a few oil pans if you want one. They are not expensive and probably every junkyard has one.

    H-pipe or X-pipe with Tri-Y's

I read these posts all the time. I have some Tri-y that I plan on installing this spring. I think I want the quietest performance muffer. My car drones aweful loud right now. I wish I had two cars next to each other with X and H pipes.

    1968 289 H2O

Good project. I did much the same last year. I couldnt help adding a few performance parts. I figured I was replacing the cam and pistons anyway. Its amazing what a few cans of spray paint can do. I spent two years scouring craigslist for free 302-5.0 engines. After 3 I found a 1970 302...

"Best Practice" Head Gasket Swap? Opinions?

I did mine the old way using Fel-Pro gaskets. The head gaskets went on dry. I use the cork gaskets on the intake, lots of people dont. I use high tack gasket sealer to "glue" the cork to the block and let it cure. The intake gasket got some Permatex sealer around the water passages. Then I...

    Car Values

It takes a long time and looking at the sales of a lot of Mustangs to understand value. After 40 years, two 66 mustangs that started the same are now quite different. #1 you have to think about rust. If you can weld, you can save a lot of $ and buy a car that needs some panels replaced. Most...

    Lowering Car

The Shelby 1" drop is the best $0.00 i have ever spent on my Mustang. It handles remarkably better, looks good too.

What do yall think this is worth?

Sounds like a nice car. What a car is worth and what you can sell it for are often quite different. I would think an original V8 vert is somewhere around $18,000 - $20,000 maybe more. I may get slammed. I bought my vert 19 years ago for $5000 and I think the value has gone up since then.

    A Mustang From Heaven

Awesome car, my advise is to drive it and enjoy. I looks great. I would add headers and good exhaust with a crossover or X pipe. Its something to do on any car with any mods. You could spends lots of money and get another 50 or 100 HP but I bet it drives great right now.

    Oil Separator?

Ive been thinking about using one as well. I dont see how it would hurt, except its appearance. How do you think I could hide it on my 66?
