Post pics of how your foxbody currently sits

The sun was hard on my ride this year. As was putting off some details or maintenance until my other project got back I hope for an extended fall before we get a lot of snow.

    68 coupe ready for resurrection

Drew, I can tell it’s going to be interesting to have you here. Even the typo or autocorrect “donner” instead of donor is thought provoking. I first thought of a winter vehicle for the Donner pass, then I realized you meant it for parts cannibalism. So the apparent error was exactly the right...

A little help before I start my 4-to-8

A little help before I start my 4-to-8

There is also the issue of upgrading the entire car to deal with the Coyote power, or even a healthy 347. Some things that first pop up in my mind are 4 cylinder brakes are going to be scary. You’ll need chassis reinforcements (subframe connectors and you might as well reinforce the torque...

A little help before I start my 4-to-8

As a student with limited time, a healthy 347 (a 302 based stroker) will be more likely to get finished, driven and enjoyed. I would hate to see your project end up torn apart for years and sold for parts. I’m sure there is a Coyote swap thread here you can bench race with before deciding.

Fox My 4 to 5 lug journey..

Good choice. The T-5 in a Mustang was available from the SVO catalog at a stupid price when I had the SROD “fixed”.

Fox My 4 to 5 lug journey..

Once second gear went in my SROD, (and it was popping out of gear once in a while before I ever abused it,) it was never the same. I quick shifted and babied it after it was good enough.

    Crusty battery cable

As the good AGM batteries are supposed to be able to be upside down without spilling, I suspect they are sealed, or darn close to it. The hydrogen sulfide and hydrochloric acid vented by regular batteries is bad news to metal and organic mater. If your charging system was doing it’s job too...

Fox My 4 to 5 lug journey..

Thanks for clarifying what you meant. In Limp’s case, for free, near invincibility was worth the 25 pounds. The 8.8” can take more power than that, especially with bigger axle shafts. The 7.5” is supposed to be a potential grenade. On a street car with some 1/4 mile test and tune days, without...

    Progress Thread 1963 Falcor GT?

The TB spacer has coolant to prevent icing under humid and cool conditions. Freezing up is rare, but if it happens, you are stuck until the ice melts. I suspect it helps with EGR temps, but the icing is the official reason.

Continuing on to my other projects thread

I ran across a vehicle that might be a nightmare or a great deal. The Expedition has a 5.4 with an AC problem, needs an inner tie rod and tires. $1350, and supposedly no rust besides the step bar surface. What issues are likely with a 5.4? Timing tensioners? Junior is now playing Sousa, and I...

New Forum Questions, Answers, Feedback, and things that make you go, "Hmmmmm"

Here is an odd glitch that’s no big deal, but it fits the title. Sometimes when the page loads or refreshes, the header bar with the SN logo appears not at the top of the page. It was doing this before the lower tool bar changes and the larger SN logo. It will go back to the right place when...

    Crusty battery cable

I’d still use baking soda on serious cases of Battery Cauliflower. (Since using the protecting spray, I have not had a bad case in years.) Dipping the terminal into a red solo cup of the baking soda and water mix is thorough. The CRC terminal cleaner foam really does work well, it does not...

    Detroit Auto Show 2022

Choice for what? In a new S650, a V-8 GT for a balance of price, performance and insurance cost. If cost was not an issue, then the top model that can do track and street duty. And to get one before they only sell battery powered vehicles. How the heck is that screwed up priorities?

    Crusty battery cable

You need battery terminal protector spray or gel. Grease can prevent the gasses from reaching the metal terminal, but this lasts longer and conducts better. (It’s a red or purple spray depending on the brand.)...
