2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

We looked all around the filler neck, and couldn't see any evidence of fuel leakage, while we could see it all around the fuel pump top. With the tank half dropped, we fired up the car to make sure the fuel wasn't coming from any of the fuel lines, just to make sure. We then pulled the top off...

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

Well, the car isn't completely fixed. My father came up to get the car yesterday, so we went to fill up the tank. We noticed that there was fuel leaking out of the tank area. We got the car home, and started looking at things. The fuel would leak with the car running, as well as off. I've...

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

Actually, I was concerned that this would happen prior to starting the thread. With me not knowing the full spectrum of work performed, symptoms witnessed, and lack of general knowledge on my part, the info was definitely going to be lacking. I'm glad you stuck with it.

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

I had also hoped to find something more obvious. On the possible plus side, I am selling it to my father, if he still wants the vehicle. In the off chance it comes back, I do know where to start looking and what to look for. Ughh, it reminded me why I bought the car in the first place, it's...

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

We put the tank back in, hooked everything up, made sure that the wiring did not go over any upraised areas, and the car fired up fine. We let it run for a bit, no issues. Unlike the previous times the car would start, pressing hard on the accelerator did not cause a drop in RPMs. We put in a...

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

Pulled the tank down, although it didn't seem necessary to take it all the way out. The only two things I could see that looked sketchy were, in the first picture, where the wires went over the top of the fuel pump, and right after that where the foam padding is cracked. Where it's cracked, it...

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

The car sat for several months without running, so I assumed the fuel had turned on me, resulting in the car not starting. That was the extent of my investigation, as most people, including me, figured all we would need was to replace the fuel pump and filter, as well as drain the tank. The...

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

I'll round up the tools, grommet and jelly, and my buddy is going to help me out on Saturday. I forgot to ask, what did applying the battery charger to the connector towards the fuel pump prove? I understand the resistance testing in each direction, but I'm not sure about the amp testing.

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

Would you be able to send me instructions for dropping the tank? I'm guessing there is more involved than just unbolting from underneath the car. I've read several other threads, and people are talking about a fuel line disconnect tool, as well as a gasket that I'll end up ripping. Is this...

.5 .5 1 With the 10 Amp setting on the charger, there was 7 Amps showing. The fuel pump did kick on. Open Open Open

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

I tried (3) 3 second cranks, the fuse did not blow. Reconnected, fuse blew first crank. It's true. I followed the cables as far as I could, and they looked sound. I also checked any other cabling in the trunk I could, short of pulling out the subs/amp and all of the paneling/dynamat, and the...

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

I understand. It's also not extremely helpful that I was so hands-off with the original mechanic work, and am having to basically start over. Live and learn... I do know that I bought a fuel pump for the mechanic to install, since he said I had burned the original one out. This didn't...

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

Uh oh. I knew the FPDM sounded familiar, it's already been replaced. I pulled the one out of my car, and it has a sticker stamped with a date of 2009. I checked my receipts, and I did actually buy one, back in May. Unless there is a different suggestion, I'll look into FoxRod's O2 sensor idea.

This must be the thread you were talking about: Need technical wiring help! 96 GT Unfortunately, the link in the thread doesn't work any more. I'll search here for other O2 Sensor threads. Thank you for the info. I disconnected the FPDM (picture linked here, in case someone in the future...

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

I understand now, my fuse diagrams don't have the Fx.xx numbering scheme, just the last two digits. It's F1.14. I'll go through the CJB again, and make sure that nothing in there has re-blown. Rodents are unlikely. In the three years I've lived here, I've never seen any, or evidence of one.

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

I rechecked the fuses. The 20 amp fuse for the fuel pump, I'm not sure how that correlates to your numbering system, was blown. I had already replaced this fuse once, recently. I replaced it again, tried to start with no success (with the spare key, no theft light, at least that seems to have...

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

The mechanic said no power to the fuel pump, and he said he traced the issue to the CCRM. I did not ask for specifics, but I'm under the assumption he used a volt meter. Prior to replacement, I could not hear the fuel pump priming. Post replacement, I could hear the fuel pump priming...

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

DTCNONE comes up. No subsequent presses of the button brings up any codes similar to the ones originally posted. Interesting bit of information, though, never knew that was there. No. From what I understand, the mechanic would occasionally get the car started, but after driving around for an...

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

I went through the steps in this order: I rechecked again, all is as it should be. I do hear the fuel pump. The RPM gauge doesn't bounce, until I stop cranking. At that point, it jumps a very small amount. The check engine light does not come on when cranking. I did this a few times...

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

Oh, most certainly. It doesn't come across wrong at all. This mechanic was recommended by a friend, and he seemed to treat me well, as far as I could tell. When explaining things to me, he seemed logical, and didn't seem to be ripping me off. I would buy the parts, of which there weren't...
